Not in a good space

It's like a feeling just bubbling up to the surface. It's panicky and disgusting and I dont' know what to do with it. There's no thoughts associated with it. It's a feeling. A really gross one. I called the Suicide Call Back service. I didn't find them helpful. What do you do? What helps you?

Hi Paws 🙂

How lovely to pop in and find a hello 🙂 I do hope you and Woofa are well. I've had a bit of a down day today, just really needing a break but not quite at the finish line yet. If I manage to get this last assignment in by Friday arvo when it's due, I shall enjoy celebrating with my first (in person) yoga class on Saturday! What a treat that will be!

Hugs right back at you x

Hi Katy! Hope you get that last assignment done and get to yoga … hope Storm is keeping OK - we have lovely weather here, I'm doing a house declutter but it's so nice today I think we'll have a coffee in the park in the sunshine. Library is open again - yay! - but no sitting down allowed yet. I'm reading Fleishman is in Trouble it's a bit of fun! Sending hugs xoxoxo

Hi Hanna x

Depression has really rolled into town here *sigh*. Too much stress I guess. I'm happy to hear you're having nice weather - coffee in the park sounds lovely!

I had a google of your book - it sounds interesting. I've made a start on Good Dogs Don't Make it to the South Pole. It's narrated by the dog and enjoyable thus far. I've also written the first few lines of my debut novel. Ok.. I don't know about that, but it popped into my head when I woke up this morning, so I've jotted it down regardless.

Hmmm not sure if the library has re-opened here. I have a very overdue book if it is! How did you enjoy the Randolph Stowe book you were reading? I'm 3/4 through the Merry-Go-Round second reading. I just adore it.

Hugs back, Katy

Hi Katy,

You're probably tired, so no wonder Depression has hit you a bit now - yoga in the park might be a big help, being out with other people and not thinking about essays etc anymore...

I've heard of the book you're reading will be interested to hear what you think of it. I got half way through The Girl Green as Elderflower by Stowe and then lost interest - maybe it was just the wrong time to read it.

It's freakily hot here, people are in short sleeves, I went to the library it was so hot I felt faint - and it's midwinter here! Roll on global warming...

Oooh so you are writing something? Way to go girl! Good on you.

I'm home recovering from the heat before going out to have an ice cream (I'm forgetting my weight for today) as it's just too hot to do anything but sit and stroll in the park - tonight will probably turn freezing.

Have you still got one assignment to finish? Did you finish the one on community gardens where you had to work out all the budgeting? Ugh sounded awful!

Take care and hope you get a proper break from study soon.... hugs from hot Sam xoxox

Hi again

Yes, tired is quite right. I just want some long days of doing what I want now. Just the one assignment to go, and I'm halfway there but struggling mentally to finish it off. The community garden assignment marked well (a HD if I want to brag, and I will because I need a bit of motivation right now!). It was an awful assignment though, and I'm convinced I never want to organize a project! Budgets and timelines are terribly boring.

The local Salvos thriftshop has reopened and I picked up 2 old poetry books, a book on emotional intelligence, and another on being brave, the other day. So they're on my TBR list. Yoga and books will make for a nice break.

I hope you enjoy your park wander and ice cream. We've had stormy weather but there appears to be a break, so I'm off to walk Storm, before I go round 2 with this assignment!

Sending cool vibes from the west x

Hi Katy,

Well done you with the HD on what sounded like a horrible assignment on community gardens! I'm glad to hear you're almost finished and can relax for a break for a while. Books sound good - I had a look at the Dr Cross book on anxiety but didn't think it was very good - got the book The Narcissist in Your Life from the library today but it's not very helpful either - thought it might help me work out my family.. nope. Back to Fleishman is in Trouble (since I'm watching Northern Exposure where the author gets the character from!) Nothing like a bit of escapism...

I hope you get to relax soon, beach, books and yoga sound good to me! Hang in there, not long to go now. Hugs xoxo

Hello

You have been doing a bit of reading - lucky you! I'm so close to finishing this assignment and therefore, semester, but it's such a lovely sunny day I'm going to meet my friend and walk Storm first.

I had to bring all my pot plants in to protect them from the latest storm, and I now have 100, so that was quite an exercise lol. And today, putting them back out again! I'm looking forward to having time to arrange them a bit better as they're currently all over the place. I even had to put Storm's outdoor bed in the storage room as I'd run out of plant space. You can image she's not overly thrilled about that!

How goes the decluttering? What are you up to today?

Katy x

Hi Katy,

I think I might be answering you late - I had to do supermarket shopping this morning, then took Sam for a walk by the river where we met a pretty dog called Evie and her Dad, Sam fell in love with Evie at once and the two of them had a lovely play and several swims in the river (must be cold!) & Sam's now exhausted and fast asleep. Went to the library and got out Griffith Review, essays on Reading Country. I wish they would let you sit down on a chair when you're browsing, standing up only in the library!

A lovely sunny day but tomorrow supposed to rain and Monday freezing cold with snow nearby, ugh. I didn't have lunch until about 4pm, so I'm about to shower and veg out in front of the telly...

That's a lot of pot plants but I would love a courtyard garden - enough to sit out in, Sam to play in and me to have nice plants! When will you have your last assignment finished? Final year everything is more difficult but you must be about half way through the year now! Well done you!

I'm culling my books now which is truly painful, I love my books - but as I get older, packing them and moving really is too hard - but which to keep and which to give away? Gosh it's tough! I keep looking up blogs on decluttering to see what other people do.... we bookworms seem to all find culling books a real challenge!

Take care of yourself and poor Storm with all those pot plants around her, she's being pushed out! Furry hugs from Sam (or there would be if he was awake - now he's a bit older a big play with lovely young Evie - who is only two, I fear my chap likes younger women - has exhausted him! Hugs anyway xoxoxo

PS: That should be Writing Country, not Reading Country, duh!

Katy, what books of poetry did you find at the Op Shop (being a poetry fan..). Have you read any books by Stephanie Dowrick? I was looking at her book The Universal Heart last night (as it's been on my bookshelf for years and I'm trying to work out whether to keep it or cull it) and it's really very good - I need the parts about not thinking when someone's abrupt that it's about me but probably just they're tired, preoccupied etc. I used to go to interfaith services she held in the city years ago - beautiful music, you didn't have to believe in anything in particular, and she'd always give a talk on something useful and interesting - I really missed those when she had to stop them due to ill health.

Do you watch Rosehaven? The show set in Tassie? It's coming back for a third season next week I think.

Happy assignment writing! xoxo

phew! Well that's semester done. Got my assignment in 15 minutes before the 'bell rang' lol

I'm rather knackered now. Was a hard slog to the finish line. People warned me that 4th year was difficult, and now I see that to be true.

You know, I'm not at all sentimental when it comes to books. I'm happy for books to come and go. The more they're read the better I think. I once saw the Salvos throwing books into a skip bin, and myself and another lady browsing looked at each other in horror. I may not be sentimental about keeping them, but they definitely don't belong in the bin!!! So, the poetry books I picked up are: Percy Bysshe Shelley and Robert Frost. I haven't looked at them yet, but they were 50c each so if I don't enjoy them it's no great loss.

I'm glad to hear you've had some lovely weather, and that Sam got to splash about with a cute girl - how nice. We're in for a sunny weekend, just in time for me to enjoy it. Yoga in the morning, potter about in the garden, read a book in the afternoon sun. All planned out 🙂

Yes, I do like Rosehaven, and was glad to see it's coming back. I'm going to try and watch a movie about a cult on tv tonight, if I can stay awake. Though I'm probably in the mood for something a bit lighter, as the blues have kicked in. Perhaps tomorrow will feel cheerier.

Glad for your visit x Hugs to you both
