Not in a good space

It's like a feeling just bubbling up to the surface. It's panicky and disgusting and I dont' know what to do with it. There's no thoughts associated with it. It's a feeling. A really gross one. I called the Suicide Call Back service. I didn't find them helpful. What do you do? What helps you?

Hello Katy,

Lass there is no need to apologise... using your thread as a diary to note your ups & downs is fine... a lot of people on here do that... it can have a double benefit... helping you & helping those just reading along to know they are not the only one having ups & downs. Yep I have mentioned keeping a diary.. there are quite a few people on here who recommend it...

We all use the forums in our own way as it best suits us... I tend to post on my thread only when I'm really struggling or muddled or feel I'm slipping into a dark place.

Trashy books can be wonderful things to indulge in... no need to think... just go for the ride...

Reading in the garden with the sprinkler going sounds lovely..

Woofa sends gentle snuggily snuffles

great that u can take care of urself and enjoy a good read....

something there's nothing better than trashy or chic lit or the equivelent in movies....

impressed with all the things ur doing to keep well x

Hi Katy,

Good to hear you are feeling a bit better today. A trashy book sounds like just the thing! Sometimes a trashy book or a silly movie is just what we need!

Yes I've slipped a disc and oh wow is it painful, honestly I am over having things go wrong with me lately it's ridiculous!

My pot plants are looking sad too, I think the cold weather and thunderstorms and now heat, they're all confused!

Sat in the park this afternoon with Sam and had an ice cream and very nice it was too - I shouldn't have but what the heck - it was for MH!

Hugs.

Hi all

Woke up feeling low again, which is annoying. I finished my book last night, actually really enjoyed it. The content was "trashy" but the writing was fantastic. It's a little cooler today, so I've organised to go for a walk and have lunch with my friend. Maybe that will pick up my mood.

Hanna, a slipped disc sounds very unpleasant. Will it realign itself? Or does it need treatment of some kind? I agree, eating enjoyable food is good for our mh (I'm still flaunting my covid kilos!).

Thanks all for being great company. It's lovely to pop in here and see messages of kindness and support. I don't feel so lonely on my good days, but I do on the less good ones - even when I see people in real life - go figure.

Hugs to all xo

PS: my boy cat hasn't eaten in 2 days now, but seems fine. He just looks at his bowl and walks away. Is this normal?

Hello Katy,

OK I'm going to ask... what was the book?

A few days without eating isn't really anything to worry about if he is still being his usual self... More importantly is he still drinking?? If he is lethargic... coat dull... not drinking... off to the vet. Is your cat one that is allowed outside? It might be he is getting food somewhere else... people do feed cats that aren't their own. Is it hot there... like us cats can feel like not eating when it's hot. Does he use kitty litter inside... if yes check if his stools are properly formed & no signs of blood... If he still isn't eating today try tempting him with something different that he really likes. You know your own cat... if you are asking does that mean you haven't seen him do this before... if so, I would be inclined if no improvement to do a vet visit just to rule out any health issue.

I hope you enjoyed your lunch & walk

Hugs

Hi Paws (hi all)

I read In The Clearing by J. P. Pomare, which is a fiction story based around a cult. Some of the content was a little challenging, but I should have expected that given the subject matter. I looked online to see if Kmart or Big W had any of his other books, but no such luck.

Thanks for all the tips about kitty. My son is a bit upset, as it's really his cat. They've always had a close bond. I will wait out today and take him to the vet tomorrow if nothing has changed. I did wonder if it was the warm weather but yesterday and today are cool. He's still drinking, and seems normal otherwise. Poor old boy.

"Boob squash" day for me today - always a fun time. I think I'll treat myself to a pink lamington at the bakery on the way home, for being brave!

Have you managed to get any of your household tasks underway after your trip to Bunnings?

Hugs, and thanks for popping by. Katy x

Hi Katy,

I hope you're not too sore after the squash boobs day today!!! Was that book in the library? Sounds like it might be a bit bleak??? Glad you enjoyed it anyway, I seem to be having trouble finding another good novel to read these days - I keep dipping into one or the other and then get tired of them and don't finish them. I'm not sure what I want!!!

How's kitty? It's troubling when our pets don't eat. I hope things are OK. Sam has hurt a paw, he walks a bit better on it when I'm not looking, and holds it up when I am nearby... clever little guy! Still it's pretty clear it does hurt, he is limping wherever he goes, so no walks today. Very hot but i managed OK - went to the dentist then had a cuppa sitting at a sidewalk cafe, ducked into the library, grabbed some shopping and came home. Hot days ahead here...

Are you still feeling improved in yourself? I hope so. Take care, hugs.

Hello Katy,

Doing the squished boob thing definitely deserves a pink lamington or even two. You are very brave.

I hope kitty is better today & has started eating. Is he a very old cat?

It has taken me two days just to take the items out of my boot... so today I have made a list of all the unfinished projects... total so far is 42... I hope I can start off with the simplest & work my way through.

Hugs

Hi Hanna, Paws, everyone

Kitty is on a special bikkies diet, otherwise he gets stones in his urinary tract, and that's an emergency situation. Despite this, I've given him some yummy soft tinned food and he ate most of it tonight. I'll take him to the vet tomorrow for a checkup and discussion, but happy he's eaten something. Perhaps his teeth/mouth are sore. I think he's 16, so not young. I still feel worried.

So worried, I forgot my reward lamington - drats! My anxiety was through the roof today to be honest. Cat, boobs, trying to organise uni for the year... too much! Oh well, today is done now. Time to breathe.

42 or 100 chores to do - eek! Yes, start with something small so you feel that sense of accomplishment, and that will drive you on. Though, I only just took my Christmas tree down today, so I can certainly relate to putting things off.

Okeydoke. Thinking I might go for a skate. Get rid of some nervous energy. Then chill 🙂

Sending kind thoughts xo
