It's been a while since I was on the forums, so I just wanted to make a post saying that I'm back. However, I'll try my best to limit my time, comments, etc on here.
I won't bother tagging anyone, and I'll try to keep this as my only open thread that I have created.
I've missed everyone I've spoken to on here, and I hope to talk to some new people. I have been using my offline supports - my Psychiatrist, GP, Parent support of course, and a Social Worker. I'm in the process of finding a Psychologist but I'm having no luck.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and also I hope I haven't upset anyone on the forums or anything like that because nothing was intentional, so I deeply apologise.
An update on me, I recently turned 21, can't do much with COVID though, it's a hard year for everyone unfortunately.
I also have a milestone, an achievement, I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for a year which is the longest I've stayed with a therapist. And I also finally have a GP I feel comfortable with. I'm on different meds that seem to be working a little but I still of course have my moments, but these meds I've been on the longest for out of any of the ones I've tried.
Other than that, please don't feel pressured to comment anyone, although it would be nice to connect with some people, old or new, but like I said that's okay. I just wanted to check in.
If you've read this and made it this far, thank you. Stay safe and take care everyone, as much as possible with the unfortunate COVID circumstances.
Thinking of all the Beyond Blue Mods & Users. I've missed everyone.

Is anyone around please? No pressure, I just feel like talking to people, I don't mean that in a selfish way though.
Also question, I read my Psychiatrists' letter from last month as it was sent to me today (why it took so long to get sent to me, I have no idea, I asked if there's one from December), and he wrote I may well be suited to trauma focused therapy.
Would that be such as EMDR? We were discussing that and we both think it may be beneficial but I need to find someone who can do it since the people I found aren't taking new patients of course, I guess I'll have to keep looking around & emailing places, & getting let down again, sigh. He said the only way to find out, like meds, etc. is to try it. He's persistent about the PTSD meds but I'm hesitant because of the blood pressure.
Sorry for me rambling on, and my above comments.

Hi mb20lover,
Sorry I didn’t manage to chat with you yesterday.
Thanks for updating us on how things went with the GP. Sounds like there was a lot to get through with him. It’s a good thing you asked for things to be investigated. Hope you get some answers soon.
I’m hoping that once I’m back to normal after some illness I can go for walks again. A dog would be nice to walk with but I have cats and they would just complain the whole way 😉

Hi mb20lover,
I’m not familiar enough with the subject to answer your question unfortunately. Perhaps others may be able to help.
When talking with my GP, I can tell her what I’m looking for, then she has a contact list on her computer of specialists in town and I ask her to suggest who may be suitable.

Hi Lillylane, thanks for checking in here.
Yeah I'll ask my Psychiatrist when I see him but that's not until March, usually I see him & my GP every month.

Hey Tayla,
Thats a bit strange getting the letter so late. I guess Christmas rush??? Sounds like it came in the post did it? If so it might have got a bit lost.
I saw my new GP last week and she gave me the list. No-one local was available for months, but in the next big town the first place I tried had a psychologist with an appt next week, so I booked in. She doesn't bulk bill, or do the medicare rebate, so just the flat fee, but the one's who did seemed to end up a similar cost. I'm still confused as to whether I'll get 10 free sessions like I got last time with my MHCP......... I'll just have to wait til I see my GP again.
Hey I noticed that you didn't eat all day one day- is this a regular thing for you? Cos I'm sure you know about food and how it's linked to mood.....Even snacking on nuts and fruit to keep blood sugar levels up is better than nothing. Cheese on crackers is another good one. It doesn't have to be a whole proper meal to be good for you.
Hugs,
J*

Hey J.
No my Psychiatrist does the letters electronically. It used to be on my file but they've changed that since people were doing stuff to their letters etc, for Centrelink I think, so people ruin it for everyone else. They also changed the booking system (although you had to call to book) so you can only see GPs appointment times, so I can't even see when my Psychiatrist has times available anymore.
Yes it is a regular thing for me, the eating habits.

I wish I wasn't here. I have nothing to live for, I am nothing. I can't even get mental health help, and I've tried so hard, why me? I don't have a single friend and I never have, and just my parents as family, no other family. All I had was my Grandparents who passed away years ago, and I grieve so much for them and pets every single day.
I'm so lonely and struggling mentally and now physically with a bunion which is so painful and asthma.
I can't go on anymore. I'm safe but I don't know why.

The helplines never help me, I'm always left waiting hours no matter the time and day and I never get through, and even get told to go away, even before I've spoken to someone.
There's no point for me anymore. I don't feel cared for and appreciated.
