It's been a while since I was on the forums, so I just wanted to make a post saying that I'm back. However, I'll try my best to limit my time, comments, etc on here.
I won't bother tagging anyone, and I'll try to keep this as my only open thread that I have created.
I've missed everyone I've spoken to on here, and I hope to talk to some new people. I have been using my offline supports - my Psychiatrist, GP, Parent support of course, and a Social Worker. I'm in the process of finding a Psychologist but I'm having no luck.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and also I hope I haven't upset anyone on the forums or anything like that because nothing was intentional, so I deeply apologise.
An update on me, I recently turned 21, can't do much with COVID though, it's a hard year for everyone unfortunately.
I also have a milestone, an achievement, I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for a year which is the longest I've stayed with a therapist. And I also finally have a GP I feel comfortable with. I'm on different meds that seem to be working a little but I still of course have my moments, but these meds I've been on the longest for out of any of the ones I've tried.
Other than that, please don't feel pressured to comment anyone, although it would be nice to connect with some people, old or new, but like I said that's okay. I just wanted to check in.
If you've read this and made it this far, thank you. Stay safe and take care everyone, as much as possible with the unfortunate COVID circumstances.
Thinking of all the Beyond Blue Mods & Users. I've missed everyone.

Thanks Mark, and just stuff going on, aswell as the nightmares, pressure from my GP & Psychiatrist to get a Psychologist. I keep explaining that I can't & i've tried everything & that it's stressing me out but they're not listening & understanding. I can't escape it & have a break. EVERY TIME I see them, they ask. It gets annoying and exhausting.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to politely tell them?

Hey Mark, what brings light to your day? One thing that makes life worth living.
For me today, it's watching my kid boot a soccer ball, so hard, against a team of 10 yr old bullies, who just said "We're gona smash yous!"
That lit a spark for me lol!
🙂

Hi Tayla,
It's strange with the delay on this chat- have just caught up on todays convo's.
Sounds like you're having a tough day Tayla. I'm glad you're here, and can tell us about it, even if we can't help much. You know we care, and I'm hopeful that that will get you through today.
What do you want to do?
How do you want to sort this?
It must be hard to think with feeling depressed, and the nightmares, and everything, but you're in the drivers seat here- what do you want to see happen?
Big hugs,
J*

Hey Jstar.
That's ok, I understand the delay on here. I do wish we could tag each other though to get notifications but that's fine.
Yeah I'm having a hard time lately. Thank you, I care about you all and want to help all of you aswell.
I don't know what to do, or what I want to see happen. The nightmare last night was about this guy I used to like in high school, luckily we never dated. At the time of course I wish we did, but I was mentally abused for about 5 years. I don't even think of it and it happens. I feel like my dreams/nightmares & thoughts are controlled because he doesn't even pop into my head. It's scary and I'm always worried I'll see him somewhere.

Hi Tayla, Just got this off health direct- may be helpful if you're seeing your social worker tomorrow. She/He is definitely the one who should be helping you, as Em said.
"What does a social worker do?
Social workers provide counselling to individuals and groups, information and links to other support services.
They will help make sure you get the help you need, such as emergency accommodation, financial support, and health or legal services. They will coordinate the different support providers, while advocating for you and helping you to navigate the healthcare system.
Social workers may either work directly with individuals and their families, or in policy, education and research to reduce discrimination and other justices."
Cheering from the sidelines,
J*

Hey Matchy-
I love end of school! Holidays!
Is your d finishing early cos she's in yr11? Mine doesn't finish for nearly 2 weeks.
I hope you'll be quietly celebrating, in whatever way seems best to you.
Cheers!
