That makes a lot of sense CMF. I’m sure I watch those shows because it is calming and familiar. I used to watch The Chaser but haven’t recently. About 18 years ago I had a housemate who was really into Home and Away and it was on every weekday night. So I got into watching it too. We would get into anticipating what was going to happen next episode. But it is now years since I’ve watched it. My friend who has a young daughter got into watching it after putting her daughter to bed at night, when she’s not normally much of a tv watcher. She just found it helpful somehow.
I wish you the very best for this year CMF 😊
Take care,
ER

Hey Hey Country Music Festival! (Wave to Eagle Ray!!)
CMF mentioned 'Remember those NYE parties we had in the BB Cafe years ago?' Oh yes I certainly do and they were a ton of fun hun. They were very special and helped me a lot too. I am rapt that you not only remembered but also that those New Years Eve/ Christmas Specials helped you through some tough times.
I think we wore out a few keyboards at the time lol. You are a very special person CMF....and thankyou for being you! You heart is kind and your words are true.

hI ER.
Funny thing that home and away though. My daughter and l are always amazed at the way the writers seem to think every Christmas a bomb, an accident or a murder or two is a great Christmas present to their fans.
And then whatever the disaster or tragedy was is advertised and replayed over and over in every ad all through Christmas and the hols. Although blowing someone up seems to b their ultimate fav.
They've done it again this year, someone's digging a grave this yr, just all so feel good , and l must've seen the ad replay 50times through the hols and all the gruesome drama and l don't even watch much tv.

Ha ha, you are very right rx. Back when I was watching it with my housemate there was a character who rocks up into town and starts recruiting members of the local town into his cult. The stuff on it is pretty hardcore at times given it’s shown fairly early in the evening. It’s hard to believe a small town could have so many dramatic happenings. And then those happenings seem to accumulate at Christmas!
A favourite show of mine that was also set in a seaside town but more lighthearted was SeaChange. I don’t know if you ever saw it? I feel it is one of the greatest ever Aussie TV series. I live in a coastal town and there are times I feel it could be turned into a tv series with all the characters.
I hope you have a really good year this year rx.
Very best wishes,
ER

Hello Rxx, do you really need to see the show after seeing the ads so many times in the weeks leading up to the episode? You've already seen the 'best' bit.

Hi all
So true re H & A. Always a bomb or kidnapping last episodes. I also love Eveeybody Loves Raymond & King of Queens.
I'm so glad it's all over. Has a grest day today finishing the front garden before it rained then out with my older daughter.
So, does anyone have anything they'd like to do/accomplish in 2024?

Really glad you had a great day CMF and got to spend time with your daughter.
I’ve had a big improvement in my health over the last 2 weeks which has got me thinking about starting my own business. I’ve thought about it a lot before but have had real struggles with mental and physical health issues and thought I was going to have to apply for the disability support pension. So I’m feeling a whole lot more hopeful at the moment, but trying to not get too overexcited as I can be overly idealistic at times. My mind and heart can be all on board but then my body says no. But my body is significantly happier at the moment so wondering if 2024 will involve a new venture for me.
How about you CMF?
Best wishes,
ER

ER, while it's wonderful to be feeling so well, & to feeling ambitious & having a major goal to strive for - may I simply say, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, & if it your business idea is feasible, financially possible, then I'll wish you all the best for the future venture.

Thank you MK! I have done extensive research and I’m continuing to do it. I am working on it every day. I have an appointment with my employment agency person tomorrow and will discuss further with her, plus my psychologist next week.
It feels feasible and it is a niche relevant to the area I live in. I’m thinking of doing the Self Employment Assistance Program that you can do when on Jobseeker Allowance. They only let you undertake the program if they think your idea is feasible. It’s something I’ve looked into over a long period of time. I’ve had a big turnaround in my health due to current treatments, so something I’ve dreamed about is starting to feel possible. But, yes, I will take care and still think everything through carefully.
Hugs 🤗
