We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes

Hey Tay, Marie Kondo is really cool! She also speaks so sweetly and gently to others.
I really like her philosophies - alot of what she does oozes gratitude!

There's alot more to gratitude than we may think. It's ONE of those over arching mindsets that really helps us move into more mental health. The Research is backing this all the way.
Research is also showing that self-care gives us more mental health also!
So we're powering all the way peeps!

You're doing SO WELL Tay!

Hey missep, love that you're trying NEW things! AWESOME!
My favourite latest music is by Hozier. Movement is my fave of his.
What a dancer!
What a VOICE omg love his voice.

My self-care recently:

* continued the 'heavy work' of moving furniture and unwanted, broken goods out to the front garden. I ordered a Council pickup online last night for the very first time! Yay! I've had an aversion to "online" stuff like that, so I'm really happy with myself. It comes next week. Scheduled help from my children on the weekend to move it all up to the curbside.
All in prep for Yvette's birthday parties next week.

* did some gardening after work yesterday.

* I'm juggling my busier life more easily by making self-care a priority also. I'm determined to continue with self-care. I returned to fulltime work a month ago and doing well!

(Aside from my OWN self-care, I can see Yvette doing so also! She's organised her own Traineeship paperwork all on her own, being the facilitator between her Workplace and her School. Just needed a few signatures from me lol.
She also ASKED for help on the weekend from her older siblings! In preparation for her parties next week.
She also went out with her friends from work (WOW!) - whom she trusts alot more than her friends from school. I need to talk with her about following her instincts about who to hang out with because she's feeling better about certain groups of people and NOT with others).

Onwards and UPwards everyone!

After I wake up every morning, I go out side and look at my plants, I smell the air and look at the sky and think to myself today is going to be an awesome day.

yesterday my partner and I had a little dinner date at one of our favourite japanese resutrants, had a drink at the pub and some icecream. It was a form of self care for me because it reminded me take a step back from it all and just relax a bit and being able to spend some quality time with my partner is special for me.

That's beautiful Gambit.

It's lovely how much you appreciate your partner. She sounds like a real catch!

Then again so do YOU! lol.

My self-care today was:

* taking healthy food to work!

* seeing the most amazing Podiatrist after work, omg I'm so Blessed!

* relaxing and spending time on the forums with my gorgeous puppy dog beside me. LOVE!

Mblover

could you count coming on this forum as part of self care.

For me talking to others on the forum helps me.

I washed puppets I bought at op shop but had been putting it off.

I listen to a friend tell me about his family’s communication problems.

- Ice-cream.

- Ice Magic.

- Sprinkles.

That is all.

Hello ecomama, not sure if you remember me but I just wanted to check up say hope you are doing alright, thank you for your reply on my post and the conversation we had on this thread. I am doing well, came back just to check up :).

This is random, but i’ve just had like a bit of awakening moment from watching some youtube videos and also someone I used to talk to (we fell out and stopped talking) messaged me again and we spoke briefly and that was it! but still interesting nonetheless. I watched a youtube short film called homeless teen meets blind and dead man. I recommend it a lot it is a beautiful video brought me tears of joy by the end. But back to my awakening or realising moment, I wish I could spread happiness and love to the world, i’ve always been like that, I will try helping strangers in need that I see in public if they look like they need help, I am a huge empath like my mum, I think she is the only person who can truly understand me and so I understand her because of the empathy and being able to read other peoples emotions and situations. I’m typing here because I think it’s cool this happened, being optimistic and helping others is always an amazing thing. The gift of giving is much more fulfilling in ones self then receiving gifts, no matter what they be.

Anyway the random rant is over, hope you are all doing well if you have read this far to see this message, have a good day! 🙂

Hi all,

Ice magic! Fond memories!

Friday was a great self care day for me. Went to new counsellor, had a massage after, then spent evening sequestered in my room reading. It was truly a very caring for self day.
Now it’s raining and it’s just good to be home and dry after driving kids around.
cheers

J*

Today for self-care:

1) I cleaned up my study desk and made a new set-up with a spare monitor we had at home! It's great that I didn't have to spend extra money to make the area look new!

2) I watched Snowpiercer - that's my recent Netflix favourite to watch!

3) Spent time with my dad!

Hi all,

Great work, as usual. Yep J*, fond memories for me too, Ice Magic featured prominently in my younger years.

Bit light on self care for me today, but managed some around work.

- Quiet time with my birds in the morning before work.

- Brief forest walk on the way home (couldn't stay long, had shopping that had to get in the fridge).

- Meditated and had a nap when I got home, with my little birds.

- Dinner and watching a fun YouTube show with my partner.

Blue.

Hey Rickdawg, YES! How you doin'?

Nice work lol. Please pop in any time you wish to write anything you want to lol!

All conversation is welcome here, it really is.

I think what you described in essence is "knowing yourself" alot more.

I am a total devotee to the efforts of knowing oneself!
So many reasons why it's good for each of us but I doubt I'd have to list my thoughts on that.

In a nutshell, once we know ourselves, we know what makes us HAPPY and what doesn't.
From this our life's paths are far more clear.
So are the ppl to steer clear from lol.

Love your work, hope to see you around!
