We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes
EM

Today was a tough day because there have been some stressful things going on so I'm so glad that I told myself that I should go ahead with my plans and see my friend!
1) My main self-care today was to go out to lunch with a friend, I got ready and going out made me feel much better.
2) Watched Netflix (my good go to)
3) Cleaning up my room

Hey self-carers, so wonderful to read the nice things you're all doing to take care of yourselves.
💜💚💙🧡
J* prawn chips sound yum about now lol!
Not_Batman, glad you got to have a get together with your friends just in time!
Missep, so glad you got to spend time with your friend too.
I'm still a bit of discomfort from surgery this week, so taking it extra easy on myself.
My self-care today:
* had a long, happy, loving call with my BF after not being able to connect for 5 days, which is a long time for us lol.
* buying Thai food for dinner and having it delivered too!
* Celebrating some amazing achievements tonight with some of my children & grandchildren.
One grandson increased his reading levels by 100% - wow! One son got a Supervisor's role he went for at his part time workplace, oh AND bought a car today lol. Yvette was offered a Traineeship by same workplace, she's taking paperwork to school on Monday, we hope the school approves it all for her.
My self-care part of this is having family around.

Hi all,
Way too much happening since I was last here, I won't try and get up to speed this time. Have poked my nose in from time to time and seen you all doing your best and supporting each other through some rough times, that's enough.
So, my stuff:
- Saw the doc about my dodgy shoulder (ongoing saga). Watched an episode of Disenchantment and snuggled with my birds before I went.
- Had a nap after (with birds). Also meditated.
- Wetlands walk (I saw a white-faced heron from fairly close up, that was a treat).
- Listened to some dark jazz.
Blue.

My GP told me to break my long-standing diet for a few days to see if the helped -I enjoyed breakfast toast, butter and marmalade for the first time in 2 years -put a whole new complexion on my day staring so well.
I bought a couple of roller blinds at Mrs C's request at a wel known hardware chain -and they fitted. This removed a worry I'd had for some time I'd end up with too long and have to try to trim them.
Mrs C and I went to the movies a day later than normal, an unusual revenge type movie, understandable but did not leave one with a good feeling. Still we enjoyed each other's company and dined as usual:) A welcome break for both of us.

Hey self-carers, nice to see your posts Blue and Croix!
Hope things go well with the physical stuff you're dealing with.
My 3 yesterday: truth be told I worked more than cared for self... just the way it goes sometimes!
* cleaned and did some garden maintenance - not really self-care but it looks nicer now, so that's pleasing.
* bought take away for dinner
* had a huge long nap.

Hi all,
* Enjoyed a coffee at the park with my D after a DR's appt.
*Read my book for an hour after attempting a cover letter- found out the job had 'expired' so stopped bothering lol!
*washed up tonite so it wouldn't be sitting there tomorrow-busy day.
Feeling overwhelmed with looking at jobs so resolving to do a little bit each day.
Cheers,
J*

Not really self care, but:
- Got some parcels today I was waiting on from last week, and sorted them out to keep myself busy in my bookshelf and desk drawers, so I could store them. Organising things is a way I distract myself, putting things in order such as the colours of the rainbow, a bit OCD yeah, I'm weird I know.
That's pretty much all, wouldn't really call it self care.

Hey everyone, nice self-care!
J* it's such a "ride" applying for jobs. You're doing great!
Tay - it's AWESOME sorting things in rainbow colours lol! Both my BF and I do that too lol.
Have you seen or heard of KonMarie? Marie Kondo has a free Audiobook online to listen to.
I've folded all my t-shirts (well everything) in the Kon Marie method THEN lined them up in rainbow colour order. I smile whenever I open my drawer lol.
I think that's EXCELLENT self-care Tay!
My 3 self-care things today:
* bought lots of fancy foods that were healthy and treat like too. Easy things for work just to make things easier on myself.
* am using nice make up removers, facial stuff and moisturisers & my skin feels nicer now.
* was honest with my BF over feeling hurt by him recently. Can't say it felt good opening up but it's good a self-care practice to get into.
