We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes

I have but in the moment I was feeling a bit upset so it it more of a cluster of emotions, it got no responses anyway so it didn’t matter, I enjoy commenting on people’s threads and trying to help where I can.
Also my dog is a labradore/staffy and is the biggest angel in the world he is so kind
I enjoy engaging with people it is helpful for both parties I think, I am 18 and just finished year 12 so I have less experiences than others and never suffered through anything bad MH wise, but I still enjoy reading the posts and trying to help where I can, I like this thread you have made, it helps to keep everyone together and to appreciate the small goals we complete day to day! 🙂

Hey Rickdawg
I have lots of sons who are 18 lol! They were all born at once, how lucky am I? hahaha.
Gorgeous boys just like you I'm sure.
Big time in your life! How are you feeling about finishing HS?
I felt like it was an anti-climax finishing Year 12 all those moons ago lol.
Waiting ... waiting ... but not hopeful I got into Uni.
I poured everything I could into school, so much. But was living in an abusive household so it helps to know NOW how that impacted my academic abilities.
That really dumbed me down. Had no idea of anything back then really.
Miraculously I got in to Uni by 2 whole marks! Phew. Finished then wash rinse repeat a few times.
What hopes do you have?

LOVE YOUR DOG!
Lol... my cutie is by my side right now, black fluff ball he is. He's exhausted now after having a barking fit at possums in the tree right there lol.
3 stories up the little guy thinks he's da boss!
The possums just look at him without flinching, it's like they're saying "you can't do a thing to us". Then continue on eating from the tree.
It drives our dog crazy for a while then he gives up and has a nap lol! Little bubba.

I’m glad you got into uni and were able to push through the tough childhood you experienced and do what you want! I hope to do astronomy so I will be doing a bachelor of science, and yes it was very anti climactic, especially after getting early entry before the hsc exams, I cared little for how I went in them. I am glad i finished though, always disliked school so glad it’s over won’t look back and miss it most likely
Also 2 of my dogs bark every time someone walks down my street! I can relate to how it is with dogs constantly barking lol, funnily enough my third dog just sits on the couch and doesn’t care, she’s the youngest and just watched the other two do their thing.
Thanks for sharing and engaging, I hope you and your sons are doing well and have a good new years!

Hey Rickdawg
I found your thread this morning and replied on there.
A HUGE BIG CONGRATULATIONS for early entry into Uni!
And wow astronomy... funny things was... as I sat down to check on the forums I was thinking how 'insignificant' we all are.... not in a depressed way lol... but in comparison to the WHOLE UNIVERSE how incredible it all is out there. SPACE, all the stunning planets, what holds them on their circuits lol.
IDK it was really comforting!
Well done.

Thank you lots!
I like astronomy because of the mysteries of it and how interesting space is, but you are correct, space and the universe will keep moving regardless of humans which also makes it so interesting

Great Rickdawg.
My self-care for today:
* buying some chocolate and ice creams as a treat for NYE
* laying low on the housework bec I was feeling pretty tired
* telling BF that I won't talk with him for long tomorrow, I want to engage in SOMETHING other than sitting on the phone for hours. He took it well. HOPE he feels the same!
Happy New Year everyone. Hope it brings you all you wish for.
Love EM

Hi all, hope you're having a good New Year's. My stuff for yesterday/today:
- Applied the hair dye I got myself the other day, very happy with how it came out. Did it while my partner was out seeing a friend, he came home to Blue in Goth Chick mode, hehe. He loves it.
- Gave myself a pedicure. Did my nails alternate royal blue and silver.
- Enjoyed a quiet New Year's Eve watching movies and drinking cocktails with my partner. Rang in the New Year with a kiss. 🙂
- Great big sleep-in today, needed it so bad.
