We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.
Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!
Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.
Best wishes

Hey EM.
I know you didn't mean training for work, thats just something my Psychiatrist wanted, they don't fund anything him & I asked for. I have no idea why because he's said that they should be funding it. I'm already on the DSP so I don't need to worry about Centrelink, but thank you.
We have Neighbourhood Centres here yes and they're some of the places I was rejected from with the groups. It's things like sewing, arts, mindfulness, etc. I'd be willing to give it a go. I had a very traumatic experience at Headspace so I longer go there.
I do have multiple MH Diagnoseses, I don't have Autism though as far as I'm aware. One Psychologist I saw recently told me I could have a Learning Difficulty & I found that very offensive.
Volunteers won't let me do it either. I have experience in work experience in aged care for 2 years from high school but I still can't, before COVID too.
Sigh.

Hi Em
I hope it's ok to ask? I don't want you to feel pressured to answer. So it's all cool if you would rather not.
I read somewhere on one of your threads, that you had issues with your teeth and mouth and I hope I got this right. You saw a naturopath? I feel uneasy asking, but will you tell me what they advised you to do in regards your issue. I have been having so many issues with my mouth and teeth these last few months. I don't have the funds to go to a naturopath. Anyway will you tell me?

Today I:
1) Felt like sugary American cereal so why not! It was fun to eat it
2) Lay in bed and watched tik toks
3) Danced around to music

Hi all. Losing track of the thread again, sure is busy in here. Wishing you all well in your self-caring endeavours.
My stuff:
- Organised a lunch date with some work chums (for after I recover from New Year's).
- Decided on my next hair colour, bought the dye (black).
- Sat down at the café near work when I finished and had a cappuccino. Haven't done that since before covid.

Hey Shelll
You can ask me ANY THING you want to at ANY TIME you want to too.
Open book lovely.
Hmmm I actually saw a Dentist. Had major work done including bone grafts and extractions. Apparently I have around 2y "work" to be done.
Wasn't happy with my rate of healing THEN went in to Health Food shop to buy specific things.
We have some knowledge of naturopathics, herbal remedies and other alternative therapies but am not qualified in any of those areas. Just surrounded by it all alot throughout my life.
Arnica is a great healing helper. I got a mouth spray of it. Worked a treat.
I'm doing lots of other things a few times a day that the Dental Hygienist taught me to do.
BUT if you're in any type of pain in your mouth / teeth please find a way to see a Dentist asap.
Some pains in our mouth are very dangerous to us. Extremely so in some cases ie abscesses.
Infections in any areas of our body can make us feel fatigued and low.
In our mouths that lead directly to our tummies, we can feel upset in our tummies too.
My upset tummy reduced so much by taking the arnica spray. (But I had internal damage from abuse also).
I wish I could be far more help!
Some Dental places now have Interest Free financial support you can sign up for.
I'd shop around if you were contemplating this if you can.
Hugs Shelll. Hope things can be resolved for you very soon.
Love EM

Hey all! I am new to this site and would like to contribute 3 self care things I have done today 🙂
1. Spoke on the live chat with someone to try and figure out what was happening with my mental status, which helped.
2. I have tried to help others today with their issues
3. Tried to let my tired dog sleep on my bed but unfortunately he just rolled around and went back to the living room
I enjoy interacting with this community and wish everyone well!

AMAZING self-care every single cherub! I'm so impressed.
Free hugs to those that want one.
Tonight I:
* ate a great dinner I reheated from leftovers lol.
* had a nap to ease my headache.
* got angry and allowed this instead of suppressing it. I was specific in the reasons I was angry with my son driving into my garage door. Then the kids all got a slice of the reasons my frustration has built up to anger and they apologised, garage door crashing son felt guilty. Wow. Then they folded ALL the washing, made me a cup of tea and emptied the dishwasher. (First time in like forever lol). I don't wish this to motivate me to be angry every day lol I told them.
But thanked them for their work and we had hugs.
Sighhh what a week!
I'm enjoying the calm atm.

Hugs Shelll.... hope you get well soon!
Hey Rickdawg, love that name. Gotta love dogs lol. Ours is a cutie patootie and quite a handful too!
You are most welcome here! And a very warm welcome to the forums also. I hope you find the forums a safe and supportive space where you can share whatever you want to about your MH journey and life in general!
I try to spend most of my time in the "Staying Well" sections of the forums at the moment.
I'm glad you found our Self-care thread!
Have you started your own thread?
No need to ofcourse. It's just a way of introducing yourself to members and getting to know each other. Still, no pressure. You can scout around and join in wherever you please.
Best wishes
