We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes

Hi Ecomama,

Hahaha never thought of those little tricks, will def keep them handy next time I overbake or do some other silly experiments with my cookies.

And this is so true: you and others are always so very inspirational to me. Find your posts uplifting and giving hope. I am always grateful for those little treasures people decide to share here.

My self care today:

- went for a walk and admired the ocean. The surf was very strong today but the weather sunny. The sea looked truly spectacular.

- whenever I find a moment I immerse myself in a book. I love Australian authors. My recent discovery is “Breath” by Tim Winton. Can’t get enough of it.

- did my study.

Love and peace.

Hi all,

Great self care and support for each other happening, as usual. Something to be proud of. I haven't visited this thread for a while, but still doing my best to self care. Here's my stuff:

- Sticking to my tech detox, only checking e-mail, social media and forums twice a day. In moderation using those things can be useful, but it can become compulsive, time consuming and very draining after a while. Maintaining my boundaries with them has done me a lot of good.

- Meditating daily. Can't say I do it for long or even that I'm especially good at it, but it does interrupt ruts in my thinking and unblock ideas and solutions to problems. That has value.

- Spending time outside, even if it's just having a coffee in the back yard.

Blue.

Hi Blue, thanks for ur self care! It adds a lot to this beautiful thread,

Today I read a few pages of a new book, seems great and piqued my interest in the author who has written some of my favourites,

I blew a friend a kiss through the mask when I couldn't speak properly

I asked for help

Today I organised and ate dinner, and organised lunch for tomorrow (things I have found really difficult to do lately, with an eating disorder history).

Well done guest.

My self-cares of today... *drumroll please*

  1. Did Yoga after a longggg time
  2. Calmed myself down from an anxiety attack and let myself look at some things that made me feel less anxious online
  3. Made a change so S/O and I can communicate better 🙂 - I reckon we're already pretty good but there's nothing wrong with improvement!

Hi all,

Thanks, Sleepy. Great that you're reading a new book, I'm a big bookworm. 🙂 Welcome to Guest and Selfcaresorceress, too, good to have you here. I'm seeing some good self care happening.

My recent self care stuff:

- Listening to some new music.

- Walking more with my partner.

- Getting more involved with our Warhammer 40K group, playing more games and working on my models.

- Here's the big one - I've been writing stories. I've barely done any of this in years, so it's a huge breakthrough.
