How bloody outstanding!!!
The decision to change your behaviour was a stroke of genius! I'm so glad it paid dividends Cala. Congratulations! Yes; you do deserve a massive hug and a congratulatory kiss on the cheek! Mwah!
You worry about this feeling subsiding and that's probably a reality knowing moods as I do. But you know what? As I've said above somewhere; celebrate those victories with vigour because they're oh so important for your recovery. Remembering the quality days is essential.
Your brain's learning! Every time you have a day like today it creates new pathways to wellness. When you sit and daydream about today, your brain responds by adding more energy to this pathway. It's a memory just like negative ones, so will be treated the same. The more you dwell on the good times, the stronger that pathway gets and you experience 'more' good days.
I'm so very proud of you hun. Sigh.. it's so nice to read the wonder that is 'you'. How about getting your nails done in bright fire-engine red!! 🙂
Hugz;
Sez xo

Dear Cala 🌞🍁🍃🍂🌞
I am sending you loads of autumn sunshine and positive vibes to you today, and I am so happy to hear of your feelings of wellbeing yesterday ... it was just wonderful to read, and fantastic that you are celebrating the feeling.
Thank you so much for really warm words in your last few posts, I really appreciate it. It is so good that something kinda clicked into gear for you, getting a few different perspectives on the same theme can help sometimes 😊 (that's kinda what I meant in my last post, but not well expressed, sorry).
Reading about your lunch catch up with your friend was very positive, and what colour are your nails?
I like that you are listing 3 positives here. Another bb member, smallwolf, has shared a slight variation on this that I think he said comes from the book The Happiness Trap. I find it a nice variation: so, each day list: 1 thing to be grateful for, 1 achievement, and 1 pleasure. Again, they don't have to be big things. So yesterday mine were:
achievement - I sent an email that was hanging over my head;
gratitude - that i had pre-prroared and frozen some meals so I didn't have to spend long on dinner last night when I wasn't in the mood, and ;
pleasure - watching a tiny honeyeater collecting nectar from flowers in my garden as I sat with a glass of wine within a metre of him, it was magic.
What will you do today, my friend, to bring a smile to your heart and mind (and maybe even your face 😃)?
Lots of caring thoughts dear Cala.

Me again 🤩
I also wanted to say how inspiring it was to hear of you changing-things-up for yourself, e.g. sitting in a different spot in the morning, turning on the radio when usually you'd have silence, listening to lovely classical music in the evening instead of turning on the tv.
Awesome!! Isn't it amazing how simple little things like this can shake up our routine and change our mindset?!
Cheering you on, Cala 😊

Thank YOU again ‘Ms Stars In Your Eyes’ for your many kind words and it’s nice to read that I inspired you Birdy.
It’s late Tuesday night now and I’m tired, but I did want to reply to your posts today.
How have your last few days been Birdy ? Eastern Australia is going to cop some unpleasant weather in the next several days just in time to welcome winter. I’m certainly going to be feeling it and it will make getting out of bed in the morning even harder. Perhaps you will be feeling the chill too.
As was expected (being logical) my good day yesterday didn’t last into today but I will keep up the change in my routine and try to introduce some other different things, and remember to “Never Give Up”
Cala 😅

So “bloody outstanding” was it Sez ? 🤣😂 I had to smile at THAT - thank you for your kind words
Yes as was expected the good feeling subsided, but as I said to Birdy tonight I will ‘Never Give Up’
My new doctor suggested that what I am going thru is ‘adjustment disorder’ and all things considered that makes sense but it is mixed in with ?% of depression and anxiety and again, all things considered I have a lot of work ahead of me to get my balance back.
My nails appointment is tomorrow. Fire-engine red isn’t really my style but it sounds good 😉
its time for lights out and sleep 😴 💤

Birdy , Sez , Grandy or anyone. I’m having a bad day again and I really feel like 😭 crying my eyes out but the tears wont come. I woke up this morning at 7.30, didn’t get up till 9. Stayed in bed torn between the feeling of sinking lower and lower but at the same time knowing how cold it was and enjoying feeling cosy and comfy and the softness of my faux fur throw. Such a confusing feeling to be physically comfortable and emotionally awful. How can I feel both ? So disappointing to feel quite good just two days ago and now like this. I don’t want to say too much, have to change my thoughts to better things.
hugs 🤗 to you all

Hello Cala,
I know the feeling of being quite good for a day or two then bam back to tears and an emotional mess..It's okay to stay in bed longer then you usually do if you want to.
Ive been very emotional the last few days, and gone It a Bp mixed emotion episode.
Im trying to just keep my mind constantly busy today, I seem worse today..I'm on these forums, or doing internet jig saws, colouring, sudoku. (lol I really can't even do the 9 square ones)..scrabble etc..read a book, anything really to keep your mind busy on positives instead of negatives..
Im a firm believer of trying to change our thought pattern when we're emotional.. sometimes it doesn't work, but I'll keep trying..
Do you like writing fantasy stories or going to imaginary oasises? I started a thread for people who like writing for distraction..it's called "virtual fantasy escapes"..feel free to add to the stories if you feel up to it..Writing is a great distraction and I know you write good poetry..
I just needed a chat and it sounded like you did/do as well. I hope you feel better as the day goes along..
Big Warm hugs and kind thoughts..🤗🤗🤗..
Grandy..

Hi Cala 🌞,
I am here to say be gentle with yourself. If you are going to have a doona-day ... enjoy it!
Relish snuggling down into your faux-fur throw, put on some lovely music and read, or try some knitting, or do a puzzle (Grandy has heaps of awesome ideas), or watch a movie ... it's totally ok to have a snuggly day in bed, and when the weather is feral and cold, it makes doona-day all the better!
It's so good that you had a couple of days of feeling good and energetic, and you (and we) celebrated that.
But down days are going to happen ... it's natural. So don't be hard on yourself because you're feeling awful today.
Give yourself some love and care. Have compassion for the precious Cala who is hurting today and needs nurturing and looking after. Treat yourself as you would treat a dear friend who was feeling sad and lonely today. Give yourself some love.
Sending hugs, and encouragement to embrace what you need to do today to take care of you.
