Hi all 🙂
Thought this thread might be of use to talk about your stories if you like and where you're at now.
In a better place.
I have Bipolar, (BP) pretty sure all my life. Wasn't diagnosed, I approached them thinking I have this at age 46.
The ups (mania) are magic, ying and yang (opposites) evident with BP & in many other ways.
The downs, crippling. Still ..but I'm DETERMINED to beat them with time & effort and professional help. One of the psychiatrists said it can't be beaten, I say cause it maybe hasn't been done, doesn't mean it can't be.
Have come an incredibly long way so far.
Long way to go probs but HAS to be sooner rather than later, else this mother of a demon will get me, I live in fear of going under the line again which majority of the time the head goes South but looking back at those times knowing I got through & that it's not always like that helps.
SO many good times, happy times between.
The cycles have gone from Rapid cycling (4 or more a yr) to 8/10 a yr since the loss of my beloved partner of 28yrs to leukaemia.
My teens starting at 14yrs I attempted suicide 4 times.
You're in hell considering, contemplating & ultimately attempting suicide, we're going against our strongest basic instinct. Survival.
Wanted OUT, couldn't see anything but Black in my head, no light, no way out, no other choice, the depression beast had me engulfed as it does most of the time in cycles now too.
Rock bottom. The pits.
I've learnt a lot one thing is it doesn't stay this way.
Sleep's vital. We don't get a lot or quality when down, it affects how we feel usually in a negative way.
Life's so much harder when we're tired and exhausted, we see feel & react to things differently
That part of our brain that works at pulling us down, I think with everyone, not only mental illness or disorders
Self esteem rock bottom, still working at it, it's true we have to like/love ourselves works as a shield.
Great loving good parents lucky
If I'd known in suicide yrs I'd meet a beautiful loving partner and have so much love from family, friends and happiness between the downs, I wouldn't have attempted.
BP downs equate to heavy grieving alone without it on top.It slammed but now I'm looking back and Yes still hurts, always will but we owe it to ourselves to keep going. We don't know whats ahead and nothing stays the same.
I know that now.

Hi kind good people, replying out of order
Mandy darling 🤗 Thanks so much for reassurance no ones leaving me, very comforting, and for those other lovely comments.
Soz repeats. Before love passed I often said not to die & as a child to Mum often. Maybe where this leaving thing stemmed from when I was young dear Dad was going through heart surgery, I asked poor Mum, she so gently replied yes he nearly died 😢 same a few yrs later he nearly died. Later at the peak of his health it was instant. Stumbled on a lot of thoughts of dying can/is consistent with OCD one day I'll read up, fluked on that couple days ago.
Everything u amazing people are doing for me is perfect ⚘ I'm constantly blown away with the support here & you all have so much on your plates too. I support others but feel guilty that I can't enough cause of this head rot. I realise there's no pressure ☺but..
Solid. honey ?, re support bloke may be able to help with intensive therapy. I don't know I'd be a priority tho often thoughts & hows and the severity of the downs which I'll know in time are changing & of course funding being the key issue but I'll talk to him and GP seeing again Fri. I suspect they'd only do it for severe risk to themselves or others. Mind you I occasionally wonder if one day my brain will lose the plot, not in psychosis or harm to others but how the hell much before it caves in and insanity takes over. But at least for now Im rational. Maybe I could get NDIS funding but I think they'll see me as coping. Yeah/nah, they wouldn't hesitate after a day in this head.
Mask? no this guy I'm very open with. Unfortunately but grateful I essentially see him for MH f.nitely, the bbq can be a quick chat.
Hospital I'll talk to GP. You're making sense darl thx but again I don't feel I'm priority, almost gaurantee they'd say go home, but my god it'd be good not doing downs alone or without people that get it. Not downing anyone in my life. Maybe if I ring MH and see what they say as well? Been choofed along by them too, they're lovely & good but for criticals. I'm on record with them but feel dismissed there too. (Funding & for critical) Its so hard reaching out you're so friggen vulnerable. If I could express or remember better it'd help.
Taken a big age to do this, need the practice. Back sleep soon. Bbl loves.🌹
Bit better today 🤗

Good afternoon dear Deebs. I am just doing my daily check in with you. Hope you are starting to find a way through the maze that is Bipolar. It sounds dreadful, and I certainly do not envy you or Karen or anyone else with a bipolar diagnosis. I consider myself fortunate that I dont have that on top of what I do have. And I cannot even say that I understand exactly what you are going through because, not having experienced it myself, I can't. But I do experience many of the components which make up Bipolar. Although I feel I do get mood swings I certainly dont get the wild variation between depression and mania. I get the depression, but I dont get the mania. So I can sympathise and understand the depression you suffer. The rest is all a learning curve for me. But I am very happy to read along and learn from all that you write. As I believe I have mentioned to you before, I do have a brother in law who has bipolar. So I find it helpful to learn all this for both my off-line life as well as my attempts to meaningfully support you here.
So ... did you manage to get some worthwhile sleep last night? And how are you today? No pressure to respond until you're good and ready. I really just want you to know I continue to think of you. Its definitely not a case of "out of sight out of mind" when it comes to you. You're unique and special, definitely not someone you can easily forget.
Sending you love, care and a hug. 🌹 👩❤️💋👩 🤗
Hi to everyone else who supports you on this thread as well. Hi Karen ... special hug to you as well. 🤗🤗
I'm off to get a cuppa. Wish I had your company to share it with ☕️. Karen what have you got in that goodies bag 💼 of yours for a biccy or a piece of cake?
Amanda 💜
