Hi Katy
I've seen birds take horse hair for their nests, so they might take human hair as well.
I've just read an article that says people sleep better when they sleep with their dog, as long as it's not also under the covers. How's that for interesting?!
The forum I'm on has a lot of Americans and the ones in hot places like Arizona are all trying to move away from the terrible heatwaves and they're all talking about climate change.
At least you're finally relaxing! Sitting under trees here near the river is much cooler than indoors, you get a breeze off the water.
Enjoy! 😊👍🏊♀️🚣♀️🏄♀️🏊♂️⛵🏖️🍧🍹🥤🐬🐙

Hello
I sleep great with Stormy, so I’d believe that. She does like to be under the covers in winter though.
Well, covid has arrived in my town. An infected person was in the community for two days, and travelled on the train back to big city (luckily not the same train as my son!). So we’ll see how things pan out the next few days. I do wish I’d gotten organised like you, Hanna- I’ve no groceries! I’m hoping I can organise car boot collection as I don’t want to go anywhere for awhile…
I have a book stack, a shady tree, and some lovely birdies to enjoy ♥️

Hello Katy,
A stack of books with a shady tree sounds heavenly... though mid 30s sounds like hibernating under the aircon weather to me...
Oh lucky you having a nest being built where you can see it...
Do you have a bird bath for your willy wagtails?... I have a shallow one that I made... the smaller birds all use it & it is fun watching them with their bath etiquette...
It must be strange having covid about after being so long without it... I can understand you not wanting to go anywhere... if you do need to go out remember mask on & hand washing/sanitising even if not mandated are still a good idea to do.
I hope you & Stormy can still get out despite the covid situation...
Hugs
Paws

Hi Katy
Do they know if it's Omicron or Delta - both are circulating. We've got so used to having to think about it here... But it makes everything more tiring and anxiety-ridden.
You don't mention getting vaxxed which is the most important thing you can do to help yourself..
Otherwise as Paws sad it's wear a mask and use hand sanitiser and try to avoid crowds.
If you can get some food supplies ahead and panadols it's a good idea.
Shop when it's quietist if you can.
Keep physically distancing.
I think in the eastern states we're so used to it after two years! But you're always more tense than you used to be when you're indoors.
I shop quickly and don't linger indoors. I avoid the busy times and only go to outdoor cafes or get take away coffee.
Have hand sanitiser at home and in the car.
It's just a laugh a minute isn't it!? 😕
You'll be OK if you're vaccinated. If not you really have to be very careful.
Good luck let us know how you are! 👍🐕

I just looked and yeah, your on the news. Welcome to the new and wonderful world of covid... Fun it's not!
I've just cancelled my hairdresser appointment today as she's an anti vaxxer who also flouts the mask wearing regulations and I'll get Omicron for sure if I sit in the salon for an hour!
Waiting for another salon just outside town to open after New Year.
Welcome to the Covid club Katy! Be careful. 👍

Feel really lonely lately now that prac and uni are done. I guess that’s only going to get worse with covid incoming. What will 2022 look like? Hmmm…
Well the weather has been lovely and I’ve been pottering about. I’ve packed the Xmas decorations away, and pressure washed the verandah. Might go for a walk and then settle in with my book.
I don’t have a bird bath, Paws. That sounds like a nice idea though. I’ll look into it. I imagine there’s something I can use rather than buying one.
Ho Hum. Not The best way to greet the new year - feeling bummed!
I hope you’re all doing ok and feeling content and safe. Socially distanced hugs, Katy

Hi Katy
You've hit that slump that happens when you've finished Uni and all your routine has suddenly stopped. You're in a transition period and transition periods are always challenging.
A friend taught me about transition periods long ago and they're always uncomfortable. Covid makes things harder, although as you're on the coast so many of your activities are outdoors you'll be less affected.
A birdbath would be good, if you have a Bunnings there you can usually get a cheap one and try it out.
Cheers 🙂

Hi Katy,
How did you go with the Covid situation there today? It must be unnerving for you to suddenly have the virus so near. I hope you weren't in the shopping centre the same time as the positive case!
I keep spare masks in the car, it's super annoying if you drive to the supermarket and then find you forgot to bring a mask and you can't go in! People here drive around with spare surgical masks dangling from their inside rear vision mirror!
Those RAT kits are $62.95 for a packet of 5 here and they say you need to do 3 tests to be accurate. How would we do that on a pension???!! Gotta love politicians!
Hope you are having a good rest with uni behind you for the time being. Do you ever see that friend you used to go walking with sometimes, the one who I think was a bit older than you?
Pats to Stormy! 😊👍🏝️⛵🐠🐙😷🥤🍹🏖️
