Good Morning Mark
It is a frosty 1 degree here this morning..brrrrrr
The kids are happy to be back at school and it already feels like we are back to normal in that respect which is great. I think that they are happy to be back with their friends and back into the routine of school which is great.
How are your kids settling in?
My veggies are starting to really grow which I am both surprised and thrilled at the same time, I am worried with this cold weather though if they will get too cold, is that a thing?
I am really looking forward to dinner tonight as I am catching up with one of my friends, my first dinner out since all of this COVID happened, it will be weird but I am so looking forward to seeing her.
We are planning a party for my son in a few weeks so that is a little stressful, he is worried too as he has never really had a big party and is stressing over the details....it is funny to hear all the things he is worried about, what food? How do we get lights outside?....I get it he just wants a great party for his friends...
Well I am off to take them to school in this freezing morning..
Have a great day and chat soon my friend

Hi Sarah i hope you had a good dinner out with your friend. Those vegies you have growing will take the cold and will take frost. My daughter has been going ok at school but my son has been struggling with school and a new principle.
I went to bunnings today and bought some flower seedlings for my new flower garden.I am just about ready to plant.
The day here was nice and was really warm here today. We are expecting some rain on the weekend which i hope we get. It's looking very dry here now.
Take care,
Your friend,
Mark.

Hi Mark
I had a lovely night out with my friend, we had an amazing bowl of Vietnamese Pho, that had wantons and egg noodles, it was so yummy and just what a cold night needs!
That is not good to hear that your son is struggling with the principal, is this something new or have there always been issues? It really makes things so hard and just not what anyone needs when we are trying to settle back in to "normal".
A trip to Bunnings is sure to cheer most of us up tho, what flowers did you choose to plant? I am so happy to hear that my seedlings will handle the cold ok as it really has been so cold each morning with frost on the ground. I do have my trays elevated on stools so that the cats don't dig around in them so that should help with the cold ground not bothering them.
I don't really have much planned for the weekend, I do have a new book to start so I am looking forward to that, do you have anything planned for the weekend? I also need to do some planning as my son is going to have a few friends over for his birthday so I will need to think about some heating and he wants a fire pit and lights....better get onto that ...lol
Chat soon and hope you have a wonderful weekend Mark.
Hugs
Sarah

Hi Mark
I am so sorry about your ex, I too get frustrated that they just cannot communicate or just be..why do things have to get into arguments or heated? We are not together anymore and they don't speak to other family or friends like this so why us? I just try to find a place for it, maybe they are very unhappy and the most comfortable person they have to get annoyed with is us? Maybe they are having a tough day and we are the first person they have seen and we cop it, I try to come at it of a place of understanding that they are obviously feeling bad, this is about them and not about me, and I am not going to take it on board. Their words are not going to impact my day.
Vietnamese food is so lovely, it is alot of fresh herbs and flavors, I think you would really like it. There are things from rice paper rolls that have noodles and meat and veg inside to broths with awesome flavors and just really yummy little finger foods too. Probably one of the most popular is Pho (pronounced fur) is a light broth soup with noodles and meat and bean sprouts and is just devine.
I am so excited, I went to look at my veggies yesterday and they are noticeably growing..I can't believe that they are actually going to grow...I know it sounds ridiculous but I really did not think that I was going to be able to do this..and they are growing.....wow..stay tuned for updates on that one......
Hope that you are ok Mark and that you are going to do something nice today, maybe look up a Vietnamese restaurant or take away and see what you can find???
Hugs to you my friend

Hi Sarah thanks for the support. My ex is having ia bad time financially and blames me and takes it out on me and has to make me feel like crap because of it.
My son ended up having a good week last week at school. He has had problems all his school life with principles and teachers. It really has been a struggle for him and us.
Today it is pouring down rain so i will be staying home today.I would have liked to gone for a motorbike ride.I am glad i planted all my seedlings yesterday the rain will give them the best start.I am glad your vegies are growing well after your naughty cats got into them.My vegies are growing really well and i think my cauliflowers are allmost ready to pick.It has been cold here but no frost yet and i am still picking eggplant. They are usually gone by now with the frost knocking them off by now.
I dont know if their would be a vietnamese restaraunt in the big town near me.I will google it.They have all the major fast food places.I usually get kfc or hungary jacks or chinese sometimes.
Sarah you really are a special person not many people like talking to me.
Take care,
Your friend,
Mark.

You Mark are a special person too and I am so glad to have you as my friend.
WOW eggplant, I love eggplant and I am so impressed at how clever you are to grow all these things, I am learning so much about gardening from you and it really is a lovely addition to my life, I am so excited to see what happens with my crop, yes I called it a crop..lol
I think the thing with ex's is that it is easy for them to blame us for the outcome of the relationship and therefore the current situation that they are in, however, there are always two people in a relationship and they have a role to play too. Also time has passed since the separation and they are now in control of what life looks like for them, not you. While it is easy to blame you for how she is currently, it makes her feel less accountable and it makes it easier, however the only person that can change her happiness, her financial situation and her life is her. Sure she has challenges with her children but that is something she has always had so she surely has made account of that in her life....
I am so happy to hear that school is essentially going well, it really does make a difference when these things go well, one less stress to have, for them also. It seems like your son is pretty resilient too, the fact he does struggle but he tries and he shows up and does the best he can, this is awesome.
Leaving now to footy training...brrrrrrr......but my daughter is happy to be back.......I am so grateful to have you as my friend Mark, I enjoy our chats and your support means alot to me.
Sarah xx
