It's been a while since I was on the forums, so I just wanted to make a post saying that I'm back. However, I'll try my best to limit my time, comments, etc on here.
I won't bother tagging anyone, and I'll try to keep this as my only open thread that I have created.
I've missed everyone I've spoken to on here, and I hope to talk to some new people. I have been using my offline supports - my Psychiatrist, GP, Parent support of course, and a Social Worker. I'm in the process of finding a Psychologist but I'm having no luck.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and also I hope I haven't upset anyone on the forums or anything like that because nothing was intentional, so I deeply apologise.
An update on me, I recently turned 21, can't do much with COVID though, it's a hard year for everyone unfortunately.
I also have a milestone, an achievement, I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for a year which is the longest I've stayed with a therapist. And I also finally have a GP I feel comfortable with. I'm on different meds that seem to be working a little but I still of course have my moments, but these meds I've been on the longest for out of any of the ones I've tried.
Other than that, please don't feel pressured to comment anyone, although it would be nice to connect with some people, old or new, but like I said that's okay. I just wanted to check in.
If you've read this and made it this far, thank you. Stay safe and take care everyone, as much as possible with the unfortunate COVID circumstances.
Thinking of all the Beyond Blue Mods & Users. I've missed everyone.

Hey Mark, that's good that you have a good GP & your kids see & like her aswell.
I'm hoping this new one will be good. When I saw the lady from Wellways (who turned out to be crappy), she said that they're both good & polite & should be able to help. But she's friends with both of them & used to work there or something like that, so.

Some only take in some of what I say and haven't been thorough.
I've expected much more than what I've gotten from doctors in my past.
They don't even really educate or teach me much. I learn more from Google.
But, there are those exceptional ones out there that are a rare find. Or ones that really do care and listen but then again I've seen more that I've felt unhappy with.

Hi again everyone, just a bit of an update.
My Mum said to cancel the appointment on Tuesday with the new GP, and see mine tomorrow, so I'll do that. Because she said they may think "why was she here yesterday?", good point, I didn't think of that. I'm not trying to Doctor Shop or any of that, I'm not that type of person. Hopefully it doesn't seem that way to anyone, Medicare included.
My Mum also said when I go to reception to pay, say that my current GP isn't helping me, his appointments are too far away and I'm struggling with my mental health & he's the only other GP there that deals with it, would he make an exception for me please since he says he's closed his books & is only seeing his current patients? It would only be 1 more patient for him anyway. I'm sure if I explain that & say he's not really helping me, then I should be ok. I don't want to backstab the Doctors or sound selfish or make it seem like I'm Doctor Shopping though because I'm not doing either.
Hopefully tomorrow goes ok, with my current GP. He'll probably just ask the usual - how I'm going. That's basically all we talk about. I constantly tell him how much pain I'm in from my bunion & that my mental health is suffering, and that I'm not sure if my current meds are working.
In regards to the meds, he just says "speak to your Psychiatrist about it." I understand that to a certain extent because that's part of his job but a GP should also be able to help me with that & communicate with my Psychiatrist & work out an outcome for me that I'm happy with, right? That's why I stopped seeing previous GPs, because they wouldn't prescribe me my meds at all, my Psychiatrist had to send it in the mail from another state or fax it & he would get annoyed with them.
My current GP tried not to prescribe them to me & I told my Psychiatrist & then my Psychiatrist told him he has to. That's about all he's done for me, & sent me for an X-Ray & Blood Test for my Bunion, but I had to ask him about 5 times to do that.
With the Podiatrist I want to go near the Doctors to see if they can help, I would probably need a referral, because it would be free or $6 each visit, not $60. He won't even do that for me. I believe you can get a referral made for anything such as for mental health, tests, whatever, & only use it once. I've done that with MHCPs and it's been ok, but that was because the Psychologist(s) were bad.
Idk, I hope my current GP doesn't get mad & the new one will see me & help me. I'm anxious.

Hi again everyone.
I saw my current GP today, he finally referred me to the Orthopedic (however you spell that) Surgeon to see if I need surgery for the bunion. But he said it could be months to a year, typical.
I can't see the GP I booked in for so that was cancelled but I can see another one who's office is next to his because he's one of the Directors & deals with basically everything, & he's an older Doctor. He sees my GPs patients if he's away or something too they said. He seems nice though so fingers crossed. I see this new one on Wednesday because I said ASAP please. If he's good then I'll make another appointment before Feb when I can see my GP again.
