It's been a while since I was on the forums, so I just wanted to make a post saying that I'm back. However, I'll try my best to limit my time, comments, etc on here.
I won't bother tagging anyone, and I'll try to keep this as my only open thread that I have created.
I've missed everyone I've spoken to on here, and I hope to talk to some new people. I have been using my offline supports - my Psychiatrist, GP, Parent support of course, and a Social Worker. I'm in the process of finding a Psychologist but I'm having no luck.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and also I hope I haven't upset anyone on the forums or anything like that because nothing was intentional, so I deeply apologise.
An update on me, I recently turned 21, can't do much with COVID though, it's a hard year for everyone unfortunately.
I also have a milestone, an achievement, I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for a year which is the longest I've stayed with a therapist. And I also finally have a GP I feel comfortable with. I'm on different meds that seem to be working a little but I still of course have my moments, but these meds I've been on the longest for out of any of the ones I've tried.
Other than that, please don't feel pressured to comment anyone, although it would be nice to connect with some people, old or new, but like I said that's okay. I just wanted to check in.
If you've read this and made it this far, thank you. Stay safe and take care everyone, as much as possible with the unfortunate COVID circumstances.
Thinking of all the Beyond Blue Mods & Users. I've missed everyone.

Hi Tayla,
Wow that sounds really difficult. I can understand if you're feeling low because of that interaction with your Dr.
It sounds like things are really getting on top of you. Perhaps too a lot of it could be traced back to that moment of being vulnerable with your Dr, telling him how it affects you to see other girls who have friends, when you don't. Thats understandable, and he really missed an opportunity to practice empathy and compassion with you. That's his problem, not yours.
This is going to be difficult hon, but if I could suggest- it would be good if you could separate the issues that you're having. Maybe write them down on paper, then once they're all written down, put them into categories, or columns. If you don't like writing you could type them up and cut them out separately, then put them under headings like: medical, psychological, wellbeing, self esteem etc, whatever you can think of. Not too many headings tho. 4-5?.
Now, this is the hard part: DON"T stop there! Continue on, get some help from family or your social worker, and together you can develop strategies. And maybe one strategy will help something else.
So for eg the woman/neighbour who is harassing you. A solution might be to tell her very firmly that you have to go, or that you don't want her to visit you, whatever it is. The strategy might involve improving your self esteem, or your assertiveness skills. This is stuff you CAN do, and will also have an effect on other areas of your life.
Brainstorm as many solutions and strategies as you can, include them all even if you don't think they will work. You could use a whiteboard, or big sheet of paper.
I said it might be difficult, because you will need to be very determined, and persevere, for life to improve.
And of course, feel free to disregard my suggestion if it doesn't sound good to you.
I'm reminded of a tangle, y'know, when a ball of string gets all tangled and knotted. Sometimes we can't see the beginning, the end thread which will help it to all unravel and be smooth again. So we start where we are, with what we can do. That's what I hope for you Tayla, that you can find one area in your life that you can untangle, make smooth, resolve an issue, and then that will in turn assist in untangling another area.
When we get overwhelmed it's very hard to see what we can do, or where to start. Start small, and persist.
You can do it!
Big hugs,
J*

Thank you all for replying and being there, it means a lot. J, I will try your suggestions if and/or when I feel up to it, thank you.
Thanks again all. I'm trying my best & trying not to be so miserable but it's so hard. I have no family other than my parents I can see or even speak to somehow, & no friends. That makes it hard too.

Hi Tayla,
You seem to be ruminating and hurt by the doctor and very upset by that
I am not trying to invalidate you at all and found the reply led me to feel bad about the possibilities for me to help.
I'm not myself comfortable that I am able to help as much as I would like to. Wishing you peace and strength...

Just saying hello and chatting to ppl is fine where you're at, and they reply where they're at. Seeming rude or impatient isn't an issue. No one here is rude or impatient, really. They wouldn't be here if they were. It's the sensitive cats who are trying to figuire out life and support oneanother, so no worries at all there - being in pain is so so different from being selfish. Ur entitled to be in pain etc but then ppl here will reply as well, entitled to say what they think and feel, too. And hopefully there's some space where it is helpful and healing for those involved.

a few months ago we spoke here i was asking a question about a doctor you were interested in changing to but you felt you'd be seen as doctor shopping, and said your mum may ask - why you had been there two days in a row to see a diff doctor? I wanted to reassure you that doc shopping is only related to medications and seeing and trying diff doctors is the only way many of us here are alive and functioning. Do a round survey of how many we've tried and I wander what the average will be...
I was only trying to ask and reassure you from my experiences and also from what I believe to be true but that was very upsetting so i didn't want to make that error again. But than it's very hard, because that's honestly what strikes me from ur posts. Like I was wanting to check in with u if that doc was available as a thought that popped into my head etc because that seemed very exciting change for u etc. Just trying my best etc and so open to know when it doesn't work.
Cheers
Sleepy

You do help Sleepy, I'm sorry if I made you feel like you don't. I have tried everything I can including your suggestions. The GP I saw while mine was away is mostly for older people so he couldn't really help. I guess I'll just wait to see my Psychiatrist & tell him.
It's just a hard situation because I can't move at the moment and I have no other options left. I'm sorry if I made you feel like that, it wasn't my intention. I do take the advice given to me from professionals or not.

hi Tayla,
Glad it didn't upset you and thank you so much for clarifying regarding the Gp, it helps me understand. I also like to feel free to ask questions.
Could I just ask if that's okay, I think I'm talking about a diff GP, i don't think u saw the one i'm talking about, you said you checked on the FB page and he is one ofthe directors of the clinic, and i think you felt like seeing him would cause friction or u may end up liking him better and have difficulty explaining that to the old one? i think the post is from about jan..... that's the last time i remember talking in depth here with you and then I was in hospital after that.
So u did go to see him and he's more for old ppl? or is this a third gp?
good luck with ur appointments and ur path...
