It's been a while since I was on the forums, so I just wanted to make a post saying that I'm back. However, I'll try my best to limit my time, comments, etc on here.
I won't bother tagging anyone, and I'll try to keep this as my only open thread that I have created.
I've missed everyone I've spoken to on here, and I hope to talk to some new people. I have been using my offline supports - my Psychiatrist, GP, Parent support of course, and a Social Worker. I'm in the process of finding a Psychologist but I'm having no luck.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and also I hope I haven't upset anyone on the forums or anything like that because nothing was intentional, so I deeply apologise.
An update on me, I recently turned 21, can't do much with COVID though, it's a hard year for everyone unfortunately.
I also have a milestone, an achievement, I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for a year which is the longest I've stayed with a therapist. And I also finally have a GP I feel comfortable with. I'm on different meds that seem to be working a little but I still of course have my moments, but these meds I've been on the longest for out of any of the ones I've tried.
Other than that, please don't feel pressured to comment anyone, although it would be nice to connect with some people, old or new, but like I said that's okay. I just wanted to check in.
If you've read this and made it this far, thank you. Stay safe and take care everyone, as much as possible with the unfortunate COVID circumstances.
Thinking of all the Beyond Blue Mods & Users. I've missed everyone.

Hi Hams, I only just saw your reply, I'm so sorry. Thank you, I hope you're ok too. I'll reply to the threads under "my threads" soon and browse through some others.
It's the anniversary of my Grandpa's passing tomorrow, since 2015. Anniversaries and their birthdays (my Nana too) are always hard. Must be a reason why I was so angry and depressed. I grieve for animals too but I can't remember the dates for that unfortunately. Then on the 16th I'll have no meds and then the 17th start my new ones per my GP and Psychiatrist's instructions.

no problem!
yes, very hard
Would you travel to receive support to any of the places in a nearby town?
i think because you are young, intelligent and have supportive parents, sometimes the support services dismiss and think ur okay. It's happened to me too. Ppl assume sometimes because i'm educated (went to uni) and relatively articulate, that if i say i'm feeling down or that my depression is very hard, that i'm exaggurating. It was like that for years to the point where I didn't know if I was worthy of help. U don't need to prove to anyone anything. if you seek help, it's because you need it. I would never challenge someone's need for help.
You are worth help and i'm sure it is out there for u, because ur a good person.

Hey tayla it's not personal to you that they don't care it's because they are bad at their jobs and try and do the least possible.
Sometimes they talk down to ppl or dismiss them so they'll go away and not bother them, even though it's their job to help. Unfortuately though I believe services in the public health system are poor and unhelpful for many ppl, even in main cities. Did you tell them off for sending it to you? I've had stuff like that happen to me all the time.
The only thing i'd say is just because one group was bad doesn't mean that it's that groups are bad or anything, it's just that particular group.

It is personal, the health care field is beyond a joke where I live. They don't even help my Mum. She fell over and broke both her wrists going to an appointment at the hospital because of a mat that was there. They refused to treat her because she wasn't "in the room". Luckily the ambulances came. Like that's pathetic and disgusting. There's no good health care here except my doctor, that's the only good one I've come across.
Yes I told them off.

no worries. please could you say a little more about how it is personal - do u feel they are discriminating aganst you because of something you did or said?
that's really unacceptable of course that they didn't help your mum. As consumers in the system, they work for us, not the other way round. They are meant to help us and foster recovery. And half the time we spend chasing and begging for help. It's completely unaccepable. The sytem harms many people. That is why there was in Victoria a recent Royal Commission into Mental Health. They are hoping it will change.
