Hey guys, it’s Liam…so last Monday, I don’t know what happened but I was just feeling severely down…this caused me to suffer from a severe emotional breakdown, something which I’m all too familiar with considering the breakdowns I’ve had in the past…If you’re wondering how these breakdowns occur, they occur when I get overwhelmed emotionally, and then I just…start crying…my question is…what exactly can I call these things I have instead of emotional breakdowns? Also I have suffered severely because of these breakdowns…especially at school, one of the SSOs, he believed I was faking them to get out of doing work, but I was only having these breakdowns because the workload was too hard for me…that was when I was 17…I’m now 20…I feel like I can’t be emotional or cry… *Crying* 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hi Liam, I experienced this a while ago and I found the most relief I got was from having a cry, hug and talk with my loved ones about being scared of them dying. and them telling me about what it was like losing people they've loved. It also helped me get to know who my grandpa was when I never had a chance to meet him.

Hey guys. Liam here. So a while back, as you guys may know, I made a post explaining how I want a girl who I can have as a friend that I can hang out with in a similar way to my best friend, and she can come with me to family gatherings and finally, and this is the most important one, I want her to be able to give me a hug from time to time. There’s one thing I forgot to mention. My dream girl. My dream girl is someone who I believe is fiery whenever injustice is put on me, or any of her friends, she’s also calm when she needs to be and is very endearing to me if I ever need comfort, and for appearance, she has long curly wavy brown hair. This is what I wish I could have in a girl. I have a pre conceived idea of what I want in a girl if you guys are wondering. I just wish I could have the right person… *Crying* 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Also, one of my support workers lost a client who was like a brother to him and one of my cousins is in hospital with her own mental health issues. I’m feeling severely emotional right now…

So last week wasn’t that great for me. For a good first, my Monday group was canceled due to people calling in sick, then on Tuesday, two horrific things happened, my mentor lost a client who was like a brother to him AND then to make things worse, one of my cousins is in hospital with her own mental health issues…I just feel like everything is crashing down on me and I spoke to my psychiatrist about it and he said that it was a trigger for me…I just feel so emotional right now… 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 *Crying*

Hey guys. Liam here. So, I figured now might be the right time for me to tell you my full story. So in 2019, my Nan fell and broke her arm, as you may know, this led to me having nightmares about losing my family, then 2020, I lost two people, my Grandpa and my Nan's best friend, then I was dealing with challenges in Year 9, where I was being put down a lot by my at the time support teacher, who let's just say was really grumpy, old, rude and strict, then 2021, my life went completely downhill...I was bullied by someone who told me to kill myself in Year 10, then I lost my dear friend as you may know, then I had an incident with an SSO who I called a source of comfort, but I didn't mean it in that way, but anyways she reported me after I tried to apologize to her on Instagram, but during that, I was controlled by a demon which caused a lot of problems for me on Instagram which forced me to leave, then in 2022, I began suffering from emotional attacks, but one of the SSOs, believed I was faking it to get out of doing work, then this forced me to leave school in Year 11, then in 2024, my former soul brother betrayed my trust, then I began suffering from emotional breakdowns, then in 2025, so last year, my aunty passed away, then I had a panic attack in December at my Monday group, and finally this year, my mentor lost a client who was like a brother to him, and my cousin's suffering with her own mental health which led to her being in hospital...I have medication and a psychiatrist, but I just wish I could be emotionally open to someone...especially females...so yeah guys, that's my story... *Crying* 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hi Liam, welcome
Triggers are tough to deal with. They come unannounced- thats the hard part.
The problem is that triggers are part of our anxious lives and we can only prepare for them best we can.
You might find some answers in these links-
https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/ptsd-and-trauma/when-you-can-t-avoid-your-triggers/td-p/611576
https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/anxiety/worry-worry-worry/td-p/87808
Each one of the above you only need to read the first post, they should help a lot.
Finally have belief that you will overcome triggers in a set amount of time. There's a good reason to use positive thinking when trggers are at risk. Eg say to yourself "well aren't I lucky, these events didnt happen to me directly so I'm lucky". It will work over time
