The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Hi Jackson
I have no kids of my own. I have always thought I don't have it in me to parent any. The noise kids are capable of making is enough on its own to put me off, even a lot of laughing & happy, excited squealing.
Is it a break from work, you mean, or from kids?

Hi Jackson
What do you reckon is the best/most important thing you (or anyone) can teach a child?
I made some chickpea & potato with tonight. That worked out quite well. I wanted to use it to top a mix of thawed, frozen veg & stuffing mix (with a little water), which I planned to put the oven. When I grabbed the container where I thought the stuffing mix was, I soon discovered it was some uncooked rice - now in the bowl of veg.
So, I'm also having rice & veg tonight - no stuffing!
As usual, I made plenty, so, my treat!

Hi and Happy New Year to our wonderful BB Cafe friends,
I woke up this morning, realised it was Friday the 13th and thought I'd better catch up with the Cafe. I am on my first coffee and it feels so good.
I am definitely going to treat myself today. Possibly order something from the bakery and have it delivered. It has been hot and humid this week making cooking and baking such a chore. Even with the cooling and fan going, it feels like a sauna at times.
This is the first year that I stayed home over Christmas and New Year. Haven't had a holiday but I did relax. It was over so quickly and 2023 feels like 2022 never ended really. That's just how I am feeling. I couldn't get motivated to go somewhere as almost everywhere was dealing with a flood disaster. I thought it would be far more stressful trying to fly or drive anywhere. So I have sat by the pool in the evenings with a mocktail. I better make good use of the swimming pool, while I still have one.
Have a wonderful Friday!

[LRC blushes, sorry, must have accidently not posted the following yesterday...so here it is today]
Hi Fiatlux
I'm feeling lucky: at the moment, I think I must be in the most comfortable place in Australia, without too much rain & without too much heat.
& black cats are adorable, & I'd love a swim in your pool, too!
I find. unless I decide it is, & do something to make it so, each new year feels like the last, just one rolling into another. So, to make the new year feel like NEW, we need to DO something, change something rather large in our lives. Or something happens, like my major surgery, very early 2022, made the year feel different. That was big & made big changes to me.
I'd like to be seeing some more change, be getting more exercise, by now, but there is some delay getting the support I need... that does not mean this year can't be different (better, in a good way, moving forward, etc). My decisions are firm. This year is one of change for me.
Hugzies

Hey, Quirky, good of you to notice all those things the child is doing & learning. Are you able to get on the floor & play or draw with them, too? What about making some play dough, with, uh, flour, water & food colour?
Or are they the kind of kid that is constantly on the move, running about & getting into everything? I don't know how to deal with that. For a start, I couldn't keep up!

Hello Everyone,
Awe how precious is the little toddler your staying with….your so right in saying it’s priceless to watch them learn vocal and motor skills….The exhausting feeling is so worth it…enjoy your time with them sweet Quirky…
I bought myself an omelette maker…and it’s so good and easy to use…last night I mixed up 2 eggs, with a dash of water, diced mushrooms, shallots, bit of grated cheese, salt and pepper…then poured it all in the right place in my omelette maker, closed the lid and it was ready, golden brown in a matter of minutes….I think I’m going to enjoy making some of Grandy’s special recipe omelettes..
Your pool sounds refreshingly dreamy to me right now…it’s so hot and unusually humid here the past week or two…I hang my hose over the clothes line and have it on the spray setting then have a sort of outdoor shower in my costumes sometimes…luckily my neighbours cannot see me😂😂…
I bought the omelette maker into the cafe, for those who like omelettes…what’s your favourite omelette recipe?…
Hope everyone is enjoying their day today…the best you can…
Hugs everyone..🤗🤗
Grandy..
