As many of you know i struggle with severe anxiety and depression, today we had a morning tea/lunch event at my local McDonalds and i went, i was extremely scared about going i hadn't had my anti depressant for the day until just a few moments ago and i made it through the whole thing! which is massive, i would usually do anything i could to avoid going to something like this but i did it! i actually went and spoke to people and got a long with a lot of the adults there! i know i'm only 18 but one lady was asking me if i am able to befriend her daughter to help her through the depression she is going through at the moment too. I can't believe i made it through a full nearly 4 hours surrounded by lots of people and screaming kids!!

Hi BBR,
when you say you dont want to go away anymore, are you referring to the clinic? It's normal to be scared, depression can show up whenever, so your moods will be up then down often. Do you seem to find the low mood kicks in when you're home and you don't have specific plans?
Opposite action can be useful, when your mood dips watch a comedy series, spend time walking your dog. Do things you dont necessarily feel like doing.
I know you're going through a really tough time, im so pleased that you've continued reaching out for support.
