Feeling off and acting weird: if it anxiety?

Everything about just feels off and abnormal. I feel like I don't belong in my life, or anywhere, like some sort of pod person. I always act strangely in public (weird facial expressions, acting odd).
I find it hard to get things done: it's like my head if full of racing thoughts, and yet thinking about nothing.
I sometime just feel like crying because I'm so embarrassed by myself.
I feel out of place and like people are judging me as being weird, rude and strange. I get so scared that people will think the wrong things about me, that I start fidgeting and trying to change the way I come across. It's like I forget how to think, feel and walk. I feel like I stand out everywhere I go. It's like my subconscious is pulling me with puppet strings, and I have really odd reactions to things.

Hi Rose,
Welcome to the forum!
Have you ever talked to someone about feeling this way? Try talking to a close family member or friend about this. Seeing a counsellor or psychologist for a few sessions is a good option. Google counsellors/psychologists in your area and book an appointment. Alternatively, you could see your GP to get a referral.
I hope you can start working through these uncomfortable feelings.
Best wishes,
SM

Hey there Rose55, firstly, welcome to the forums and thank you for being brave enough to reach out to us 🙂
Is there a family member or a trusted friend you could talk about this with? Perhaps they may have noticed a change in behaviour - another perspective on the situation could be helpful in figuring out why you feel this way. Has something significant happened in your life recently? Big changes, death, moving house, break ups - those sorts of things are common triggers for anxiety and feeling disconnected from yourself.
I do recommend you see a doctor about this, as they will be able to recognise the symptoms and give you the correct treatment and advice.
Let us know how it goes!
