-nice cup of tea in my fave chair

- read my book

- slept in

1...put an avocado mask on my face

2...made use of left over soup and added lots of vegetables

3...texted my mum

hi all -

ate a little extra at lunch, coupled with a fantastic hot choc

shared slowly and intuitively with psych

found and made time to speak to someone who helps me, allocating a generous chunk of time to do so

Great self-care everyone!

My 3 things:

~ bought a yummy delivery lunch, like most ppl at work do on Fridays.

~ got a new hairdo at the hairdressers yay!

~ bought lots of food to roast tomorrow, first time in a loooong time that my own family will be together for about 2 hours lol. I'm grabbin' that window!

Hope you can all plan some beautiful self-care over the weekend.

Hi all you fantastic selfcaring dudes!

I read recently the term self-compassion, and it resonated with me differently than the term self care, but it has the same meaning, so I'm sharing with you all!

Today I took the morning off, packed d's scooter in the car and took off to the beach/park together.

Bought us some snacks- gluten free for me as I'm experimenting with a connection b/t cakes and headaches....I want to see if cutting out cakes with raising agent in them helps. Gluten free options like almond cakes seem a good alternative! Hopefully my gut thanks me.

Got home in time for huge ham/salad wrap, so doing well!

It's my intention to replace breads and cakes with more vegies,and fruit, so watch this space 🙂

This evening I will prepare my clothes etc for my first day of work in about 10 yrs...bit nervous! Hope I can sleep...

I'm so excited for you!

I've found the dynamics of my family and my and their reactions HAD to change with me going back to FT work. It's a thang!
I held strong in my mind that getting to work was my priority and I'd deal with most other stuff before and after work.
Bringing me to the mind work of "the wheels can fall off the wagon as long as I don't fall off the wagon" lol.

Self-compassion was a concept Sleepy told me about last year about when I joined!
Kristen Neff was the 'agent' of my learning.
"Holding your own hands" was pretty powerful. Like LITERALLY holding your own hands.

My self-care for today:

~ came home at 8am after driving 2 lots of kids to work early.. and had a 2h nap.

~ bought my fave rice paper rolls for lunch out clothes and shoe (and GAME) shopping for him lol... but the rolls I bought backfired on my digestion... 2 had cabbage in them and erghhh not good. Plus I ate an apple for breakfast and that's not good for my tummy, sadly.

~ SO had another nap when we got home. I had 4h disturbed sleep last night + late to bed + early rise... felt whacked.

~ added the sweet potato noodles to my Thai soup in the crock pot before we went shopping, so it's ready for work lunches maybe ALL week since it's a short week.

~ bought STACKS of fruit for work yum!

~ need time for self-compassion tonight... putting p.son on the train literally felt like I was handing over my baby tonight and I felt like crying. He's told me lots this weekend and it's really sad what he's dealing with living down south.

Finding just ONE self-care thing to do that makes you feel warm or comforted or SPARKLE can be a real lot.

the four self care things i did today were:

1)got dressed

2)brushed my teeth and hair

3)played with my dogs

4)made a full meal and snacks for every meal time (3 meals and 2 snacks)

Those are GREAT self-care things and ever so important.... especially the playing with dogs 😉 lol.

What a trooper you are getting all those meals prepped! I feel SO much better when there's food in the fridge ready to go.

I'm sure I speak for everyone on the forums when I say we're so HAPPY you joined our beautiful BB family. We look forward to getting to know you and relish the opportunity.
