We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

Purchased a lovely vintage dresser

Walked to the park

Kept a distance from someone with a temper to protect myself. Worked well.

hi EM - i love them - i'm lookign for some stable, solid things for my home rather than ikea stuff which i inevitably throw out. I always feel like a gypsy. I put this dresser on gumtree. I was so proud because I had my neighbour assist me carrying into my apartment, and had the lovely seller help me position safely in my car - so I didn't need any assistance/support/involvement.
It's so cute -very heavy!

It's in my lounge room now 🙂

Hope your self care sparkles - some days are harder than other but remember, little things absolutely count!!

I am SO happy you bought that for yourself! It's such a special thing, I really want a photo lol.

I'll talk to you more on my thread!

I'm doing really well... just doing more of the "care for the home" than personally ME.
Which is FINE by me today...

Does hugging a tree count?

i have a japanese maple tree, and its leaves are so soft. so leaning into the leaves today felt like putting my head on a soft cool pillow.

i had a 5 min nap when i got home,

now cooking dinner for the family

later will be movie night

OH YES! Not_Batman it most certainly DOES!! lol..

I find it kinda interesting that you ask an ecomama if hugging a tree counts... omg yes.
So beautiful.

A JAPANESE Maple tree oh SO pretty! I hope to have one in my garden one day. My Aunty grows them and has one 50yo in old in her garden she planted lol... more of this stuff on the gardening thread lol!

I will have to do so myself but it's a lilly pilly lol.

My self-care things:

* slept in omg that was amazing lol. 😴

* bought some cranberry juice to help me 🍒🍒 couldn't find an emoji of cranberries lol.

* will phone a friend today 😍

* will be hugging a tree VERY soon! Thanks for the tip Not_Batman!

😁 EM

Thanks, EM. Ooh, Not_Batman, now I wanna hug a tree (have done my share of tree hugging over the years).

Today's self care:

1) Enjoyed some home-made Basque cheesecake with raspberry coulis. The making of it yesterday was kind of a self care act, too, I enjoy and take pride in cooking.

2) Went for a walk with my lovely partner. We saw pellicans. 🙂

3) Snuggle time with my little birds.
