Three self-care things you did today!

We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

Today I am going to:

Put the washing on, (then later, the dryer goes on)

Then breakfast

Then, when the bathroom is warm, have a shower.

(After not doing these yesterday, these things are important for me.)

Hey wonderful BB Self-carers!

So nice to see all the things you're doing for your OWN Self-care.

Sorry it's been a long while 🤗 I was stretching very much to provide any self-care this year.

I'm back so I'm doing it.

Today my self-care might not LOOK like self-care to some but it is for me lol!

1. I FINALLY  completed my last year's Tax Return (well I need to get some receipts from work in 10 days but I'm on leave so ain't going there atm :-)) hahaha

2. Set my timer on 30 minute increments and I allowed myself to STOP and have a break when the alarm rang (funny how you get on a roll and just want to see the end of something... I have to prepare for that roll when it's something I am not looking forward to lol)

3. Added to my next 3 Day's Savings Challenge to cover the weekend, so I won't have to think about it until Monday lol.

Sending love and healing thoughts to those struggling in this moment.

1. Made a lemon cake with lemons from my garden.

2. Invited a neighbour over for a cup of tea and to share cake and had a nice chat.

3. Relaxing on the couch enjoying some sun streaming through the door that’s helping counter the winter chill.

Hi everyone, LOVE the lemon cake idea! I found a recipe this week to do the same, how did yours turn out Eagle Ray?

Face mask yes! sBella great ideas. My teens did a marathon of Stranger things all set up for the moment it aired lol, groupies much? hahaha.

Today I have:
* Prayed a lot, Prayers were answered so far, yay!

* felt joy watching my grandchildren become Bubbleographers (apparently it's a new word and profession!) in the park at a pop up Art Installation,
* gave myself permission to enter the encapsulating Art Installation, felt immersed in the EVERYTHING there, such wondrous fun and left with some really cute ideas, some "zines" and a smile on my face.

* plaited and twisted my hair into a funky "do"
* dressed nicely

* put on make up too!

More than 3 but why not!

Thanks EM,

My cake turned out nice and fluffy. It was gluten free. Instead of just gluten free flour I replaced half of that with almond flour. As I’m eating a diet of no added sugar at present I used powdered stevia instead of sugar. It seemed to work.

I love the idea of immersive art installations. They can be like a magical discovery for the senses.

Self care today for me:

1. Put a warm compress on an infected eyelid and fell asleep on the couch while doing it.

2. Made a healthy dinner with ocean caught tinned salmon - a kind of curry invention.

3. Bought a new accessory for doing wildlife photography - an attachment for a telephoto lens.

Oh wow Eagle Ray! We sound like kindred spirits lol!

We have an Easy Peasy Recipes thread if you feel like expanding your BB repertoire lol and adding your awesome recipes over there?

I also have home grown lemons, about 400 of them atm!! Love lemons.

This Art Installation was serious fun! Absolutely amazing. Included Yarn Bombing things like a lamp shade, so beautiful! A Neon Temple where everything glowed with a black background.
It was all interactive, so we were encouraged to ADD to the works....

A rescued coffee table with drawings all over it we all sat at and drew on too, LOVED that idea.

So many projects so little time....

Talk soon

Those art installations sound wonderful EM. I love the sound of the Neon Temple.

I’m inundated with mandarins at the moment. I’ve been giving some to neighbours, but birds and possums are enjoying them too.

Thanks about the recipe thread. I’ll take a look.

Hey Eagle, Indeed it was all tantalising!

So nice of you to share your fruit. I get that the wildlife are getting in there too lol, story of my life here.

We also have a Gardening thread, just saying! No pressure. Do as you feel and think you might enjoy.

HI everyone,
My self-care for today was a bit off the wall, but good for me. So my roof is a major issue and was flooding the loungeroom when I got up this morning with the rain. I had a relative try to do some repair work last week which has actually made it worse! SO my SC has been opposite to what I'd normally do or be like...

Today I:
* was honest with the person who asked how their work was holding up and sent watery photos too,

* asked my son to come home and help me deal, first time I've ever done that
* cried and exerted my frustrations when we'd done all we could, then ..
* had a short nap.
* had some "CTJ" conversations with my kids still at home about them stepping UP big time bec I can't cope with the workload.

I had injured myself trying to do it all myself and could barely walk, needed to use a crutch and carry buckets of water.

Praying and working towards funds to repair my roof, with the quotes absolutely thru the roof! Yes pun intended lol.

Take care!
