We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

Yeah Sleepy and J* I LOVE Libraries too!

I visited one today to borrow stuff for work.

Have you seen the Subscriptions to Psychology Today?
An American publication that I think is AWESOME.
They have lots of studies in there written in pretty much layman's language, but lost about cutting edge Research on kind of "newish" fields for the Western World anyway lol.

My self-care today:

* stayed back at work for a short while to get extra stuff done and it felt really good!
I got home around the same time (go figure lol) but I think it's bec I missed a peak in traffic.
I'll take some data lol.

* ate healthy food at work.

* did some "centering" and mindfulness before I had to enter a meeting for the first time with the bully from last week. Yes she behaved lol! The BIG Big bosses were there.
Still I Pray this has passed. (I have evidence if it hasn't).

Still unable to book into the aquarobics I wanted to do... sad face lol.... kids need me to drive them places lots on those days.

Kids are working so much now, I spend many nights alone at home.
Alexa thinks I'm having "empty nest syndrome" creeping in.... she's right ofcourse.
Still I want to find ways to cope well with the kids becoming more independent AHEAD of them being fully independent.

Still got 4 sets of Learner hours to do so it's not YET.

Onwards and UPwards!

Such sweet self-care things to see amberlite and Sleepy!

My day could be indicative by the nature of self-care!

Today I:

* went to bed and tried to have a nap

* bought some headache tablets on the way home from work

* cried quite a bit.

Reminder to self for the weekend....
Breathe OUT...
Yoga...
Play with the dog in the garden...
Cry if I need to, journal, listen to Dr Joe....

Be there for my kids.

1. took quarter a calm down drug

2. stopped to talk to a lady who recently lost her companion animal.

3. I felt a lot of love for my husbands efforts to make me feel safe.

Today my self care:

1) Had a condensed milk coffee - it was so yummy!

2) Went through some of my old things - I found some items that were very nostalgic to me!

3) Worked on my assignment - It makes me feel good when I am organised!

Such sweet self-caring amberlite and missep!

My self-care things today were:

* ordered delivery lunch like most of the staff on Fridays, wasn't going to but forced myself, hmmm.

* visited my kids at work because they asked me to, it was so nice seeing them! We had an awful night last night, they were really upset about things like school and school friends etc. They looked happier tonight. Yay.

* forgave myself, somewhat. Still working on that.

* bought a heap of such lovely stuff in great specials at Spotlight after work. That cheered me up! Can get rid of more stuff that reminds me of yuckier times now.

* got to have a quick call with BF who's snowed in, in a remote mine in Alaska. They only allow a short amount of wifi "sometimes".

* I need a good dinner and a long hot bath tonight! Will do that asap and light a new scented candle I bought too. Yay.

LOTS of changes happening in my family.
Feels like I've been a fidget spinner for almost a week!
Finding solid ground now.

Today I will:

1) Clean my room

2) Spend time with my friends

3) Watch my usual shows at night (helps me unwind and be happy 🙂 )

I like to plan my self-care things ahead sometimes!

Hi all,

Isn't it interesting how sometimes self-care is being disciplined enough to do the things we need to do, like cleaning our room or excercising. And sometimes, it is caring to just chuck the discipline out the window! Let it all go, let the tears flow, and do what feels good in the moment!

Love reading about everyone's self care-ing moments.

Today I-

*Took a spontaneous detour with my H, after dropping d off at a bday party. Detour turned into picnic lunch by the ocean. A nice change of scenery.

*Assembled my new 'sewing room' organiser- some shelving baskets from bunnings. This is the new me people!

* Have frankinsence and bergamot diffusing in the loungeroom good for depression and hormones so win/win!

* Been listening to Brene Brown podcasts- so inspiring, and good reality check at the same time.

Cheers

J*
