JUICING for mental health

I've recently bought a juicer and have been making fruit/veg juices and have noticed it making a difference to my mental health. I'm clearer, more energized and I just know I'm giving my body many health benefits by drinking pure extracted fruits and vegetables. I thought I'd start this thread for us juicers or wannabe juicers to share juicing recipes. It's become my new "thing".

I once made a choc, banana, peanut butter smoothie and it was divine. Very comforting and filling.
I have been experimenting quite a bit actually finding out which juices I like and dislike. There are some I like more than others but I haven't thrown a batch out yet which is good.
I was watching a documentary Shelll mentioned. Ppl that had illnesses went on a juice diet . Thing I picked up from it is that many of us are nutritionally starving. Our cells are craving nutrition. I really felt that. After juicing I feel like I'm feeding my body what it craves and it's satisfying. It's as if I'm getting a real kick of nutrition.
I'm planning on juicing everyday.
I do also eat protein, fat, calcium etc....

Merry Christmas!
This week I'm going back to making the juice my friend made me. It's got raw beetroot, celery, apple, carrot & watermelon in it.
And I'll also make a watermelon, strawberry, apple one. Might had some cucumbers for sneaky veg.
And while I'm shopping I'll buy the ingredients to Shelll's chocolate smoothie and have some of those.
Matchy~
That would be awesome if ppl pull out their juices and get on the bandwagon.
In saying that cooked healthy food is great as well. But I just love the hit of a juice, lol.

Hi MM,
Agree with everyone here - this is a great thread. So pleased for you to be enjoying the fresh juice. You have reminded me I used to love getting the carrot/celery/pineapple combo at the markets. It was beautiful. I have a juicer - so will dig it out of the cupboard and make this juice in the new year. Thanks again for the inspiration. Also might try some of yours and others juices/smoothies. I know Shell has a vast array of great smoothies.
Hope you are all well. Been a bit flat (flatter than usual) - so although been reading - not posting for a while. Will certainly keep reading your recipes. Take care and enjoy.

Carrot, celery, pineapple juice sounds great!
I'm happy you've found the inspo to juice.
I've been watching a couple of documentaries on YouTube. Super juice me by Jason Vale and Fat, sick and nearly dead. A bunch of people go on a juice fast and heal illnesses/ deseases. ( Thx Shelll).
It's really interesting that we can heal ourselves with fresh whole fruit and veg. The Aussie guy on fat, sick and nearly dead cured his autoimmune desease and got off the tablets plus lost tonnes of weight. He also had loads of energy and looked much brighter.
I'm thinking of adding more fruit/ veg juice to my diet now. Been drinking at least 2 glasses of home made juice for 14 days straight. I'm also eating food but I want to reduce my food intake and increase my juice intake.
I hope everybody got through Christmas okay. I know it was a hard day for some. I spent it with family.
But my brother's were interstate. We video- called each other though.
Today I'm off to the shops to buy ingredients for my juices and ingredients for Shelll's chocolate smoothie.
My goal is to lose a lot of weight- I have lots to lose to avoid being sick. I want to prevent my body from future illnesses and diseases. Doc's tell me I need to lose weight, well, lots of people do for that matter.
I actually find it difficult after going through forced drugging by psychiatry of neurotoxins for 2 years. It changed a lot of things about my body. I used to lose weight easily but it's much harder now.
Another reason I really want to clean out my system.
I no longer have to regrettably inject the neurotoxins and I will happily ingest the juice. Feel so much better for ingesting the juice.
I've noticed my skin being clearer, my head being clearer, and my energy levels increasing.

Today is day 15 of my juicing/ smoothie journey. I've learnt quite a lot so far and will share it with you. Note; I'm still eating meals as well, not as many, but I plan on reducing my food intake.
After juicing there's a lot of pulp left over. I was just going to juice but soon learnt that blending the fruit/ veg ensures nothing goes to waste so I'm doing a mixture of juices and smoothies. This morning I had a mango/baby spinach,l/f milk smoothie and it was delicious.
At the fruit shop there were reject boxes at a 1/3 of the price. I thought they would b excellent for smoothies so I picked up a box of mangoes and a box of bananas for $5 each.
Herbs like mint don't juice in my juicer so it's better to blend it in my Nutribullet and add it to the juice.
I use a variety of fruit/veg in each juice for maximum nutrition.
I try to consume all the juice within 3-4 days.
I'm experimenting with flavours and sticking to making what I like. I want to look forward to drinking them and not be grossed out by them but then again once I've drunk them I feel really good. Even the one I made with loads of kale and celery leaves.
You can add things like celery leaves, broccoli stalks, beet leaves and stalks to juices.
Your taste buds can get used to different tastes and then look forward to them.
Your body craves nutritionally rich foods once you get used to eating them.
You always feel good after eating whole fruit/ veg juice.
~ Pear, cucumber, lime juice
3 pears
1 cucumber
1/2-1 lime peeled
Mint ( to taste)
Juice and enjoy!

Hey hey monkey!
Awesome Juicing adventures you're having and a great thread!
Get ready to be PROUD lol! I dusted off and washed my juicer, it's ready to roll....
I bought a big bag of oranges and peeled most of them.
Now they're sat in the vege crisper in the fridge in a plastic bag, still whole, chilling out and ready to put through the juicer ANY time we want.
When it gets cooler in the garden, I'll scout around to see how many limes and lemons I can bring up and do the same peel & chill process.
Maybe there's a wayward passionfruit that I WON'T juice but empty half into a finished juice.
There's ginger and turmeric growing but I already have some in the kitchen to add.
I prefer powdered turmeric anyhow (just a sprinkle) and LOVE fresh ginger in probably anything lol.
I'm going to SPROUT some Chia seeds overnight for only ONE night (so I'll only use a teaspoon of seeds) and then add some of these gelatinous bubbles of GOODNESS into my juice too.
Seeds can be around 1000x better for you when they're sprouted.
I have the Chia seeds already, so why not!
Alexa will scream if I make juice and she can't have any lol, so here comes the efforts of buying a few things in glass bottles so I can bring some across to her as we travel along. Tomorrow she can have the Chia / citrus / ginger juice in a Tupperware pouring container for her fridge.
I imagine she'll drink it down in one go lol.
I find that soaking the juicing implements immediately in hot soapy water and leaving them there makes cleaning up with a dish brush pretty simple & easy.
My chooks will LOVE the mulchy piths and stuff from the juicer.
My worm farms and composts have already taken the peelings!
Have fun everyone!
