Hello Katy,
Well done making it to your meeting. Lass you won't be the first student they've seen have an anxiety attack. However horrible it is for us when it happens, over the years I've found people are usually kind rather than judgemental.
The long weekend sounds nice especially getting out to buy a new plant, as a Victorian I'm sooo jealous.
Woofa sends you feel better slobbers & I'm sending you a big gentle bear hug

Hi Katy,
You made the meeting, well done you! Now you can have a few days off and yes do some nice things to treat yourself! I tend to have ice cream...!!!
Paws is right, the university people will understand anxiety. I used to help taking medical students for viva examinations, and it was very common for the women students to burst into tears during the exam from sheer fright. It was quite OK we understood what pressure they were under and were anxious to try to reassure them. Nobody will be judging you for being anxious believe me! I'm glad they thought to encourage you to take a break.
You enjoy yourself now. We are hoping for some snow here tomorrow, just took Mr Sam for a walk and he was enjoying the cold wind blowing his ears! Sendings hugs xoxoxo

hello
Sorry I haven't been on. So stressed and depressed. I'm at almost 200 hours (out of 500). But it's not going well. Just dragging myself through each day. I just want to stay home safe and happy. Two more weeks til I can see my psych. uggh. At least it's the weekend. I'm going to try and find some more self-help advice before Monday rolls around again.
On a more positive note, the weather is supposed to be ok, which is good because I'd like to get out and about. Sitting in an office all day has made me realise how much I like to be outside. Might go for a long walk in nature and drink it in. Hope all's well with everyone. Sorry about my big whinge when you've been lovely and supportive. It just all feels huge and gross and the finish line is so far away 😞

Hello Katy,
Here is a gentle bear hug lass. 🐻🤗
I wish I could wave a magic wand & make it easier for you. Try to focus on the positive, you have managed to front up for 200 hours, that is a pretty big achievement given what a battle it is for you. Be proud of you!!
Please lass don't forget the bb helpline 1300 224 636 is there until you can see your psych.
Did you buy yourself a new plant or two last weekend? Nurseries are such wonderful places, I can spend far too much time & buy far too many plants.
I'm curious... with all your plants.... are they all suited to one style of garden or more eclectic?
Just a thought, perhaps you might find it helpful to have a pot plant on your work space at Uni, then if your mind starts going off in directions you don't want, you could focus on the plant to settle yourself.
Some more hugs & pats for Storm

Katy, my book club wants to read The Lucky Galah by Tracy Sorensen for next month - a book narrated by a bird, I don't think I can cope!!!!
I am reading Waiting by Philip Shalom and it's wonderful - about two people ("misfits") who live in a boarding house in inner Melbourne, Big (who is a man who is a cross dresser) and his friend Little (who is in her 30s, small, and bullied and terrified of her sisters). Well Little it seems might be going to inherit her mother's house in Adelaide and enter the property market - but will Big be happy about leaving the boarding house which is home? It's so sweet. Salom writes about these people with real heart. Do try it sometime. hugs.

Good morning
My weekend was quite good, actually. My uni friend from nearby town came up on Saturday and we spent the day browsing the shops to avoid doing our chores! So that was lovely. Then Sunday I did do chores but the day was sunny and gorgeous and I ended it with a long walk around the inlet. Unfortunately, it's now Monday and I am supposed to be at uni already but I'm still sitting here in my pyjamas. Looks like I'm not going in. I'll try again at lunch time. I like the idea of a pot plant on my desk - a little reminder of home and my safe space, at uni, thanks Paws. I have all kinds of plants. I just buy whatever looks aesthetic and they sit around the yard in chaos, but I love them all.
Hanna - funny you mention the book narrated by a bird, to the person who is currently reading a book narrated by a dog! lol (Good Dogs Don't Make it to the North Pole). But if the concept doesn't appeal to you, I can see the funny side 🙂
Your other book sounds interesting - Waiting. It's a gorgeous day here and I'm going to sit out the back with a book on whiteness theory, and try not to stress that I didn't make it in again today. I'm sure Storm will be happy with the situation 🙂
Paws, Hanna, I hope you both have a lovely week. Hugs from us here xo
