Hello Katy,
That was brave of you weighing yourself. My scales & I are on a nodding acquaintance only lately.
How lucky are you & Storm to still have access to your beach. Is it usually a tourist beach or one that just the locals use.
I love the impression of your grandma being a bit of a grump, I think we should all be allowed be grumpy, stubborn, cantankerous, & indulged as we get older, there has to some compensation for the aches & pains. Were you close to your grandma? (please don't feel you need to answer if you would rather not)
Hugs

Hello Katy, Paws, Hanna, Magic, and everyone..🤗..
Maybe your like me and your clothes are just shrinking..
I am happy for you that you can still walk along the beach with your fur friend...Where I live now feels deserted, I haven’t seen anyone walking around the neighbourhood for weeks..or even heard anyone, except some dogs barking in the streets behind me...it is quiet eerie here like a ghost town...
Maybe I’ll put my CD player on, turn it up to full volume and put some Santana, deep purple or Creedence on...It might scare the eerie ness away....
Hugs and love..🤗💜.
Grandy..

Hi all 🙂
MM, yes I'm 5 minutes away from the beach. I am lucky. Might take the board out this arvo. What games do you play online? I used to play Words with Friends, but I don't really know any others. I played candy crush long ago. I got into Pokemon Go too lol. How's today looking for you? I'm thinking it's movie time on the couch right now.
Paws, we don't get a lot of tourists here. Do you, where you live? The towns south of here are much more interesting, which is fine by me! Our beaches are never packed, so I don't think they will need to close them.
As for getting older, I used to work in aged care, and in my experience, people seem to go one way or the other - they're either sweet and gentle, or feisty and cantankerous lol. I loved my grandma, and she loved me, but she certainly wasn't shy about speaking her mind! I agree though, she earned it 🙂
Grandy - shrinking clothes? That must be it! I'm imagining you singing along to your CD's at the top of your voice, with your doggies joining in. It sounds pretty good to me 🙂
Thanks for popping by. I was glad to read on your thread that you're feeling a bit better.
Love and hugs to you all. Has anyone got chocolate? It's Easter and I forgot to buy any! xo

Katy, Ggrandy, everyone,
I just popped my head in to your thread Katy - it's definitely shrinking zips during covid19. In the movie The Girl in the Café with Bill Nighy he told the girl "zips shrink in Reykjavik" so why not in Australia I reckon!
And no I've got no chocolate but I do have hot x buns...
Take care everyone and Happy Easter! xoxo

Hello Katy,
I'm a good 1/2hr from the beaches here, but many are considered protected habitats, the others are tourist beaches & so are closed to dogs from the start of October until the end of April & only some of those are open to dogs even outside this period.
I forgot to buy choc anything while I was in Woolies yesterday & the penny only dropped when I got home & unpacked Woofa's treat (a big marrow bone). I don't even have hot x buns. I do have a couple of jam donuts in the freezer, so if the weather finally cools down I will indulge with a hot jam donut.
Katy with Storms back issue have you thought of taking her to the Veterinarian University/teaching hospital (when the shut down ends). I know some Dane owners who have dogs with spinal issues (various causes) have had success going to University Vets as they have specialists training the students & it is usually a lot cheaper than going directly to a specialist surgery.
Sending you a big Easter bear hug

Shrinking zips indeed! I'm still full of butter chicken and now I'm craving hot cross buns and jam donuts, yum yum yum! I'm glad I don't have either to be honest!
Has Woofa been to the beach Paws? Did he like it? I remember my friend's Dane being a fan of the beach, but not the water. When I got Stormy, I already had a german shepherd x rotti and he loved to swim, and one day Storm just leapt in the river after him. I was terrified as I had no idea if she could swim, but she managed just fine.
The only option for Storm is surgery, which is between 10 and 30 thousand, and is high risk, and even after successful surgery the problem can reoccur. As my vet said - if you had the money to spare, you'd do it. But I don't (one powerball... ). I was advised when she was just a pup, that I'd have to take it easy and baby her for life so as to not risk the possibility of instant paralysis - no running, jumping, wrestling friends. I made the decision there and then not to do that, and what will be, will be. She's surprisingly made it to nearly 8, and has had a great full life. So I feel lucky. But I appreciate the suggestion, thankyou 🙂
By the way - you're game with the clippers! I tried once and the blood geyser that resulted was not pretty eek

Hi Katy, it's been discovered that a side effect of the coronavirus is definitely shrinking zips, so don't worry it isn't weight gain! It's the zippers!!! It's their fault!
Our beloved dogs have problems - Sam with chronic pancreatitis and Storm with her legs/spine - and yes if we only had the money - but that is a huge amount for the surgery. It sounds as if you are doing the best you can to give Storm a good life, as I do with Sam and I'm sure Paws is with Woofa, we love our dogs and give them love and as much fun and care as we can. I don't think they'd ask for more from us.
It was lovely to get out of the house today and have people walking around, other days it's so empty it's depressing. I think after everything being shut yesterday people were glad to get out today despite the wind - at least there was a bit of sunshine. It's going to be a cold night though...
I hope you are having a good day. Hugs from me and Sam ooo

Hi Hanna
I'm feeling a bit lonely today. I did get out this morning and grabbed a takeaway coffee and took Storm for a swim. There were a few people out walking, and just one family on the beach. I did notice, though, that Bunnings was jam packed on the drive past! We're having a warm day, it's almost 30 here, so I might take a break from uni work and take myself for a swim. Stormy can make do with a nap on the couch with the cat for now.
I'm glad you managed to get out for a bit and had some sun. We're practically in a heat wave!
Take care, hugs back, Katy x

Hello Katy...🤗..
Im sorry your feeling a bit lonely..we can sit together if you like because I’m also feeling very lonely...I haven’t seen anyone for over a week here..everyone is staying inside, my street is the last in my little village, and is usually very quiet..but not this quiet...
I’m sorry to hear about Storm..that’s so sad..I’m pleased she has a beautiful caring mum, who lets her be the fur baby she is supposed to be and live her life joyfully...
I hope you enjoy your swim Katy..it’s only 12 deg here today with strong cold winds...I’m about to have a swim in a bubbly bath to warm up...No doubt my furs will be wanting me to put some bubbles on their noses...They like the bubbles and run around until their gone and come back for more....😂..
Hanna..it’s not just zips that are shrinking, my buttons, and elastics are also shrinking..I mowed my lawn today so hopefully they all stop shrinking for a while..
Please take good care of you..and everyone listening here..
My Care, love and hugs to all you beautiful caring people..🦋💜🤗..
Grandy..

Hi Katy, it's good you can get to the beach, in NSW beaches are out of bounds (not that there are any near here so it should make me feel less bad but it doesn't..)
Yes I'm heaps better if I can get out in any way, I find staying home way too lonely.
I mentioned the lavender tablets I've been taking to CS on my thread, wonder if they're worth you giving them a try, I've found them pretty amazing except I seem to have had an odd side effect that I haven't seen anyone else mention... but it's only sight.
Í have some movies to watch (all light and frothy) - another excitingly antisocial evening ahead! Sam's having difficult adjusting to the cold here I think, but he's not 100% well yet so that can't be helping...
I hope you have a better day tomorrow, I am envious of the beach!!!! hugs ooo
