It's coming back

Hi....this is my first post. I've always fought the black dog. Recently I beat a plethora hurdles and bad situations.....near death experience, two months in hospital, 7 surgeries, prescription pill addiction, isolation living overseas, increasingly abusive relationship, PTSD. I RAN, I resettled in Aus, i got work, I found myself in love again...I was happy and energetic. But It's coming back. I read somewhere when you don't want to get out of bed, you know you're getting bad again. I have a beautiful new partner. I'm just so tired all the time. I've put on weight which he likes but I can't forget the words of disgust from my ex when I wasn't stick thin. I need some perspective and support guys

Thanks for the laugh!!!!!

Indie is remarkably intelligent, which we couldn't know at the time other than looking into her eyes as she was just in a big sleeping pile of puppies when my intuition kicked in and I said "that one". we held several of them including her for like a minute or so each but my heart was set and it was a good choice.

I'm still cackling away at your post....because I've lived with dogs all my life....one totally odd and bizarre but intensely clever (part husky) and dearly loveable, one your classic ball addict ("throw the ball. Throw it again. Throw it again...etc), one who was there when I was born and who we tragically left behind with a family member when we immigrated, two sappy loopy scaredy-cat German Shepherds, one little black bitsa who loved to be picked up and was only JUST small enough for me to do it, now Indie. I've also had 3 cats, one who was my soul-animal, I swear. They are all so different and smart an goofy and nutty in their own ways, aren't they??!!??

Dear RG~

Yes you have already been introduced to mine except for the latest, Foxy Dog, who was named for her looks. She is the one that want to chase the cats.

Perhaps if I followed in your example with Indie and said things like:

"Ne honit kočka ... Ne štěkání nyní "

I might have more luck - what do you think?

Dear RG

Sumo Cat is a very fine substantial gentleman with a magnificent spread of whiskers and a relaxed attitude, Nasty Cat the opposite in all respects except for the huge chip on her skinny shoulders.

So I'm ½ right I guess 🙂

hi folks. Just asking for a lifeline again. The letter from my mother has absolutely devastated me. I'm struggling to deal with it.

Dear RG~

One of the reasons I've been rabbiting on (if you will pardon the expression) about pets is that I firmly believe some things are not meant to be 'dealt with'. They can be too large, too toxic, too full of greif or too threatening for anyone to cope with.

As a personal example I was formally dis-inherited by my parents when I decided to get married. This was an enormous emotional wrench and could well have taken me down the path of self-blame, doubt and unhappiness, mainly because the love I had always assumed was buried there somewhere with my parents in fact did not exist.

I thought of it as little as possible, occupying myself with my new wife, and a while later with our baby, plus a new occupation. When a parent is toxic not only are the false barbs they throw hurtful, but their demonstrating their lack of love is more so.

So instead surround yourself with love, you partner, your pets, friends. The mind that produced that letter is not the mother you knew and still love, it is a twisted soul in the same body. Distraction, pity and distance are the answer.

So tell me the significance of that last Czech phrase
