Hi all,
This discussion is a space for all members to share suggestions and ideas to improve the Forums. This can be anything. Navigation, notifications, topics and themes, moderation, community rules, or something else!
We'd love to hear about what you think we can do better. We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed their ideas already, and we're always keen to hear more.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Hi DB, ?
I got issues too! ?
I don't think the little heart next to 'Support, underneath your post, is supposed to change colour, just the number when you support someone's post or when they support yours. As you know, you can click to support. Also you can change your mind & remove your support, too. & add it again...!
I'm really puzzled by the an announcement (which appears in a box over the big Reply button sometimes, it seems, when I've taken time to finish my response, & it appears when I try click the Reply, saying, 'Alert, Authentication Failed' , but does not explain what it means, or what to do about it.
I think the website is not recognising that I am logged in. Seems to me I am, but not all options ar available until I go & log in again, which takes me back to the Home page. Thanks to auto-save, it is just an inconvenience, which causes me to take more time, getting back to where I was trying to post.
I notice there is a way for us to insert a link, but I don't know how to fill in the form's fields.
💖💖💖💖💖for you, DB,😺 while I'm here.
I'm also visiting Smallwolf's 'Tips'... (with my memory I don't remember exactly, but it's in this section where this Discussion of yours is), & Sophie_M's as well.
Oh, && when I think, did I just click 'Cancel'. & begin to write the reply again, just in case, & click 'Load' (that doesn't look like a link, in the short notice above the text field, it did not copy my emojis, (which will look like the new emojis when posted.)

Hi Hanna & all,
For now, I copy & paste my 2500+ character count post, paste into a word document, select all this text I've just pasted, then Click 'word Count' in the lower ribbon, to bring up the information box, where I can see how many characters with spaces, I've highlighted in my document.
Then edit, until I am sure I have removed &/or reworded enough, check again to be sure, & then copy my amended post & return to BB & paste it into the text field.
Unfortunately, I was still told I was over the limit - am I confused & frustrated? Yes. It also removed any emojis & replaced them with question marks.
Doing this does take time, which I would rather spend posting to someone else.

Hello Sophie_M, Hanna, & all,
Sophie, am I correct when I say: if I press 'Follow Post' (right, next to the the 'Support', this would send me notifications that someone has replied to the individual post where I clicked 'Follow Post'?
Hanna, did you click 'Follow Post', beneath your own post, which is the one you want to be notified about?
& Sophie, what form do the notifications take?
& shouldn't that 'Additional Options, '☑ Email me when someone replies' do what Hanna is asking? I keep unchecking it, when I remember, because I don't want emails in my own inbox.
& it has occured to me too, even though I've found it more convenient to find someone's picture, & to then go to their profile, & find where they are currently posting, because in other areas it may be apparent someone has posted, but not saying who, so I'd have to enter anyway, just to see.
So, I'm sorry I can't talk to everyone, everywhere. I'm not getting around to all the Discussions I want as is. & I'm having a lot of trouble finding those who do not post often &/or in several Discussions.
Search thingy suggestions didn't come close to helping me find these people.
As for people now known as 'guest ####, which, sorry again, I can't connect previous names to these ... (there is no 'Sad Face Cat' emoji.) 😾(but I can pout)

Hello Dools, this new system is not easy as it should be and agree with you.
With 'New Posts' you could scroll down the list and easily identify which thread you wanted to reply to, but with this forum, it's not that easy.
I know my participation has dropped off, whereas with the old forums I'd spend 4 to 5 hours reading and replying to those who wereasking for help.

With this new forum we have 5 threads on page 1 then we have to press page 2 for another 5 topics, whereas the old forums we had a full list which we could see what we wanted to respond to, that made it more conducive for people wanting to pick a particular section they wanted to reply to or just read so it was more approachable.

How do you know if someone is a new member and is making their first post?

Hello Matchy, a good question and unless they tell us, we don't know.
We are unable to click on their profile picture because this can only happen to the person who is responding, for example, only I can click on my own profile and scroll down to see how many posts I've made.
I don't know why post counts have stopped.

When a thread suddenly appears, it only has the time when it was created, there is no time/date when someone has last replied, we have to open the thread.
