Hi all,
This discussion is a space for all members to share suggestions and ideas to improve the Forums. This can be anything. Navigation, notifications, topics and themes, moderation, community rules, or something else!
We'd love to hear about what you think we can do better. We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed their ideas already, and we're always keen to hear more.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Hi Geoff and best wishes..
Although a couple of the issues i was having seem a bit clearer now. I still find the new setup very confusing and not very good for a person like me with a very basic computer background. I just found the old forums so good. I do acknowledge that a lot of work has gone into the new setup and all with the right intentions though . I miss the old forums. Best wishes for a happy day. Brett.

Hi All,
-I am now struggling to find Smallwolf's discussion about this new set up!
- I am trying to read threads/discussions but just get the little red writing message at the bottom of the first post stating there are 50 unread messages?
- I have tried clicking on newest to oldest and that doesn't change a thing.
- I might just have to write to myself and see if I reply to myself! It seems I can find my own old threads okay but have trouble finding any one else's!
- Notifications tell me I have a reply, I click on the notification but don't get anything else other than the one line in the notification section.
I have looked at the video, it didn't help my technologically changed mind very much at all.

Hi Doolhof, & everyone,
It might help the people who could answer questions, to mention if you are using a phone or laptop, tablet or desktop PC, Maybe the browser you use is important, too. Things seem to be somewhat different depending upon what people are using.
I've still got my plain old Google, (over-riding Edge/Bing - don't like them) on my poor old PC, using Windows 10. I won't use my iPhone for this.
I was looking at the FAQs last night, & I noticed a list of compatible devices & browsers. That may be worth looking into.
Smallwolf's Discussion 'Tips for the new forum' is in this
category, 'Re-designing and upgrading the Forums'. If you can find the link at the top of this page, click & then scroll down further, (there ought to be page numbers to go to another page, if necessary), you ought to find it there.
Yeah, I get the bouncy-bouncy too, especially when my right click & applications key aren't giving me the options I can have for these text fields, like spelling suggestions when I've made such mistakes.
I then use the emoji panel provided by MS Windows 10 to place emojis.
😹Yes, Croix, I'm saving up some emojis for you! I'm so glad I found I could still have them, just have to substitute the proper red heart for the sparkling heart, so far. I am wondering how well you see the new-look emojis that turn up after I have posted, using my old MS emojis? The new ones aren't quite so clear & cartoonish. Not realistic for sure, either, of-course, but that's what I like about them, myself.
Sorry I can't help you much at all, Doolhof. I hope you find Wolfie's Discussion.
Warmly,
mmMekitty

Hi,
A few things! I love that you've shared this and also want you to know I've reported lots of these things to Beyond Blue because they're happening to me too.
- The support button isn't a glitch.Unfortunately it's a bit clumsy but the reason it does that is so a person reading this post can't see who supported it, only the user. The only way to know if you've supported a post is to see the count i.e. 2 support and one click makes 3.
- Unfortunately the character limit only shows up when you've exceeded it. I get that this is an issue and BB know this too. A workaround for me is copying what I want to say in Word. You can also make two posts if you need rather than trying to cut it down.
- If you want to delete a discussion update you can click on it, click on email subscriptions options and click delete. While it says email it should also work for general threads.
- If you have alert, authentication failed, I usually just try and post again. You'll know that you're logged in by seeing your profile pic up the top.
- If there's a thread that's coming up in your threads without you posting in it, it's possible you might have clicked 'follow' in which case you can go back to the thread, click on the down arrow and click unfollow.
- If you copy and paste a website link in your comment, it should automatically link, so long as it starts with https:// or www.
- Here's the link for Smallwolf's page: https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/re-designing-and-upgrading-the/tips-for-the-new-forum/td-p/53905...
I hope this helps a little.

Hi Geoff & Matchy & all,
I've been clicking on the name next to a profile picture, associated with a post, & doing that, I go to their profile
But I've been thinking, might there be a way for people to grant or deny permisssion for others to view even the basic info & the lists of Discussions created & the list of Discussions they have posted to?
Looking into people's profile, although so limited in what i see, does feel like snooping. I am tring to find Discussions I want to resume participating in & people I want to talk to If anyone is uncomfortable with me or anyone, having this quick access to (often) Discussion from years ago, than I think they ought to have the right to block people from seeing any of their profile, or to block specific Discussions where they now would feel uncomfortable, embarrassed about, or may be triggered into old habits of thought & feeling, good reasons like that?
& Yes, I wan to see who has posted the latest reply to a Discussion without needing to enter the Discussion to find out.
Warmly
mmMekitty

Thank you for your feeback, support and your engagement with the forums.
We hear that you are concerned about some of the changes to the forums, including your past posts being viewable by other members. We are sorry that this is causing you distress and thank you again for your advice and feedback.
In the development of our forums we underwent a co-design process with members of this community, and this issue wasn’t discovered during this process.
We take this, and all feedback, incredibly seriously and have been working to find a solution to this for the whole community.
If you, or any other member of the Forums community, would like to speak to us about privacy concerns please contact modsupport@beyondblue.org.au
Kind regards,
Sophie M

I keep getting notifications on here that have nothing to do with me, saying that someone has liked a post that I haven't even made/commented myself. I even got an email to say that there was a reply to Birdy's post & a like, like what? It is rather annoying.

Hi Birdy
Thankyou for replying to my post. I think its only teething issues with our new forums and myself getting used to the platform that some people may be somewhat confused
I really hope you are feeling better Birdy
