Hi all,
This discussion is a space for all members to share suggestions and ideas to improve the Forums. This can be anything. Navigation, notifications, topics and themes, moderation, community rules, or something else!
We'd love to hear about what you think we can do better. We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed their ideas already, and we're always keen to hear more.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

We hear you, Doolhof. Getting used to the new Forums can be really tricky. We're sorry you've felt it's been a disengaging, we are taking this feedback on, and we really appreciate you letting us know of your concerns.
In terms of clear information on using the Forums, a great place to start is to watch this video to learn how to use the Forums and check our FAQs on the left of the screen. These are regularly updated, so if you can't find what you're looking for in them right now, feel free to let us know here so that we can see how we can improve these FAQs.
We're sorry to hear you've not been able to see all the comments on SmallWolf's thread. So that we can help with this, is this a problem when you're viewing the thread, or are were you hoping to recieve notifications?
If you're able to view the thread, but unable to see the latest comment, ensure that in discussions that your options you are sorting by Newest to oldest, that way it will show the newest discussion at the top, making the post the first in the discussion.
We hope that's helpful, Doolhof. Thank you for persevering. We know it can be difficult to learn how to use new technology when you’ve used something else for a while, but we are confident that it will be worth it.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

No Sophie, it will not be worth it. There are too many problems with these new forums. Bring back the old and I'm sure everyone will be happy. This has to happen as the old forums were so much better without all these glitches and problems.

Hello Summer Rose, Dools everyone,
It has been a long time since i last posted.
I wanted to say i feel the same as you Summer Rose, about the way all of our posts are now easily accessed once someone taps on our name - i have given many little snippets of my life over the years, and now they're all collated in one convenient spot; i don't like it.
As for the comments from a couple of ither long term members on "our Australian flag" missing from the website - i find this pretty disrespectful.
This country was invaded and sovereignty was not ceded. It's time that the custodians from 60,0000 years this country be respected.
I think checking our privilege is an important social responsibility.

Hi Paul,
The flags of the First Nations of Australia are clearly and respectfully shown on the Beyond Blue website, and at the bottom of these forum discussions, just scroll down and you will see.

Hi Birdy,
Thank you for your contributions to the forums and for being an engaged member of this community.
We are committed to Reconciliation at Beyond Blue and display the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags as a part of our acknowledgment of the many Countries on which we work and live.
We look forward to supporting ongoing conversations with respect and kindness as we continue on the journey of Reconciliation.
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Hi Sophie M,
Thanks. For some reason I can now read the comments on Smallwolf's post where as this morning it stated there were 20 unread posts (or something like that) in red writing. I could not get past Smallwolf's first post.
I will persevere. Yes, learning new techniques can take time. It just all feels a little disconnected as I mentioned previously. Finding threads I used to be familiar with will take a bit of getting used to.
Thanks for your reply and support. From Doolhof

so now I have tried to connect to other posts to have the same thing happen: red wording telling me there are so many responses unread. All the clicking I am doing is not opening up these other posts!
This is so frustrating when you don't understand how to correct the issue.

I also get the red wording about unread posts! Now I can't hit the support button either, I get some red circle with a line through it and it doesn't work...
I feel the same as Summer Rose, all my threads are now together on one page and I feel too easily identifiable, I would much prefer this didn't happen and was removed.
I find it very difficult now to see who is on BB, and most of the people I often chat with have hardly been here for about a week now... it's a real shame, but the forums feel strange and negotiating things is difficult, so I can understand why they are not here. I find it frustrating not getting any notification of replies to my posts, but constant notifications if someone has hit the support button - I don't care who or when anyone hits the support button, but I do care about when someone replies to me on a thread, I'd prefer to have a notification about this please!

Following on about the little heart under support because it doesn't change colour I have to for the posts I want to support tap to see if the number of supporters decrease to know if I have.
To get to options for me is hit and miss. It disappears often. Either not there to start or after I've tapped, it goes.
One way to get it back is to refresh the page by pulling the thingy down from the top in the middle. Pretty much have to do everytime.
My page numbers at the bottom have gone. They were there to start.
This one went on for a few mths yrs ago and eventually came good.
Texting in this box is very difficult.
The page jumps away from where I'm typing everytime I try to edit. (I can do posts in notes to avoid this)
Emojis aren't working at the top 😆 nya ha but can still use device Croixy 😁
I'm fairly sure at least one discussion (thread) I hadn't posted on came up in my discussions list. I read the original post and don't remember replying but ? Could be headspace/memory.
Character limit isn't showing up.
This might have been my boo boo but in discussion notifications I have several same discussions. ? Can I delete any separately.
Thanks peeps. Very sorry for you bb having this to deal with. We'll look back on this and there's definately several good improvements.
⚘

Doolsy hi ☺ and all 👋
I found at the mo the easiest way to read discussions (threads) if I've posted or followed I guess to read them in your email notifications.
If you tap your profile pic at the top go to settings and then choose which ones you want email notifications from.
You can also tap the highlighted title of the discussion which will take you to that discussion here. Liking that.
Really hope you're going ok Doolsy. Many thoughts and care ⚘
