dear Kozzie, hello and welcome to the site.
Many times there is no reason why we feel this way, but depression can inflict itself on us, so we stand there and scratch our heads, however there are times why we know that we have it, and that's because of the loss of someone we love, or it could be from our childhood and sexual abuse, or parents who have had a terrible influence on you.
So you can have bad days where all you want to do is stay in bed under the doona, because we can't stop crying, so this is the time to reach out for help, and on this site that's where all of us have been, and still many people are struggling, but they reach out to help others.
Would you be able to get back to us, so that we can help you. Geoff.

I'm really struggling. My health problems are severe and when i say im sick people don't believe/care about what i say, because they don't know how it feels.

Hi everyone,
Yes, there are many sad and depressed people on here but there are also some like myself that has recovered about 90% from where I was only 12 months ago. So recovered I'm helping here everyday. Everyday until I'm not feeling well, then I'll withdraw for a while and get well, then return.
And yes, I had a suicide plan once myself. It was 18 years ago and I recall it like yesterday. But I thankfully thoughts of other people around me and how life would effect them if I went ahead. I also wnated to know how life would be if I changed my life drastically in all ways. So one week later I left my cruel wife and certainly did drastically change my life- I went from a country home on one acre to a 3 metre long caravan in a caravan park, paying child support and a part time dad. Did it work? sure did. I was free. And I also found a different direction in buying a block of land and building my own home with a kit home.
Drastic feelings sometimes call for drastic changes. It might mean leaving university, changing your job, your home, applying for a jackaroo job to move from the city, a short break from family if they are causing you pressure. All sorts of possibilities. Anything is on the table for consideration if your thoughts go down a path of self destruction. Anything.
18 years on I'm living proof of success. And I'm posting here hoping you listen to me as hard as it is for you. I do understand. And we are here to listen to you whenever you post.
