Hey James;
Welcome to BeyondBlue! You're courageous to come on here and create your first thread, so well done.
As you haven't given us much to go on, could you elaborate on your situation. Are you in a metropolitan or regional area for instance?
As well, we can't refer you to any medical professional or give medical advice as it's part of our posting criteria.
A bit more info would go a long way to helping you know how to get in touch with a GP. If in doubt though, please go to your nearest hospital. They can't refer either, but they can have a look at your situation.
Keep in touch James ok...
Best of luck...Sara

hello James, what I suggest is click onto 'Get Support' then scroll down till you see 'Find a Professional', these are doctors who are aligned with BB and deal specifically with MI, there should be someone close to your home who you can ring and book an appointment.
What I would do is write down on a piece of paper what you are worried about or the concerns you have, this will then cut down the initial talk time with them, but it will clearly state everything they need to know, and if you like this doctor then perhaps book a double appointment for your next one.
Your doctor will be your base for any recovery, they may want to prescribe medication and refer you to see a psychologist, and if there is a wait to see this psych, then you can contact the BB phone number, Lifeline,Reachout and/or Sane or go to your local medical centre who do have counsellors.
Please don't be afraid of doing this, because if you don't get the help you need then your situation may get worse and if you feel the need then cry, I've done this more times I can even remember, and you will see that there is always a box of tissues sitting on their desk, so hope to hear back from you. Geoff.
