It's been a while since I was on the forums, so I just wanted to make a post saying that I'm back. However, I'll try my best to limit my time, comments, etc on here.
I won't bother tagging anyone, and I'll try to keep this as my only open thread that I have created.
I've missed everyone I've spoken to on here, and I hope to talk to some new people. I have been using my offline supports - my Psychiatrist, GP, Parent support of course, and a Social Worker. I'm in the process of finding a Psychologist but I'm having no luck.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello, and also I hope I haven't upset anyone on the forums or anything like that because nothing was intentional, so I deeply apologise.
An update on me, I recently turned 21, can't do much with COVID though, it's a hard year for everyone unfortunately.
I also have a milestone, an achievement, I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for a year which is the longest I've stayed with a therapist. And I also finally have a GP I feel comfortable with. I'm on different meds that seem to be working a little but I still of course have my moments, but these meds I've been on the longest for out of any of the ones I've tried.
Other than that, please don't feel pressured to comment anyone, although it would be nice to connect with some people, old or new, but like I said that's okay. I just wanted to check in.
If you've read this and made it this far, thank you. Stay safe and take care everyone, as much as possible with the unfortunate COVID circumstances.
Thinking of all the Beyond Blue Mods & Users. I've missed everyone.

Hey Tayla,
Hang in there mate.Sounds like lifes really sucky atm- I'm sorry!
I can understand things getting a bit tetchy with your folks if you're feeling lousy about everything. I'm sure they're doing their best, but i'm equally sure they get frustrated too. It's a difficult situation.
Hey, I guess the new psych is the best thing in a while tho hey?
Mediactions sux. There's always side effects. I guess sometimes the good outweighs the bad, and sometimes it's the other way. And once a Dr has you on mediaction, I think they are reluctant to take you off it, except to change to something else, and then that takes time to assess..........Just a whole lot of hassle!
Hopefully your relationship and the talking with your psych willimprove things, whether that is giving you strategies to try, or just someone to support you.
The bunion sounds apinful- did you try those gel things in your shoes? I know bunions can take a while to heal.
Do you like mind body spirit stuff? Cos Louise Hays probable cause for bunions is "Lack of joy in meeting the experiences of life."
I don't know if that sounds like it fits or not. The affirmation is "I joyously run forward to meet the experiences of life" which is a nice visual!
Ha! I just read the one on bursitis, which I had a few years ago. It says"Repressed anger, Wanting to hit someone" YEP! That was me! It was in my right shoulder too.
It's pretty tough to change our thinking. If we can tho, then other stuff changes too.
Cheers,
J*

hey j - sorry to intrude but i saw you mentioned Louise Hay
I keep thinking of her in these forums when a few ppl have mentioned particular body parts that are in main
tooth, feet, .. etc i wander - what would Louise Hay have to say about it?
I'm not a huge fan but i found it interesting how she had affirmations for different body parts.

Sleepy - thank you for understanding. You're fine talking about yourself. I guess I'll be ok. I'm sorry you're being admitted, I've never been to hospital for MH, plus they refuse to help. I've heard many bad things happening at my local triage, even the ambulances said so, like SA (I won't mention that incase it triggers anyone but I think you can all guess). My parents try my best yeah. I see the Psychologist again on the 23rd, so 2 weeks so far.
J - thank you, I hope you're ok too. Yes it is, they try their best. I just feel like I'm really annoying and stressing them out and I don't mean to. I'm extremely dependant on them to do well, everything - cooking and so forth. I'm 21 and I'm a failure. I cooked at school but that was with recipes and the teacher helped me most of the time with cooking and dishes although I never asked. Good point about the meds. My GP said to me that I have to start a new med because my mental health will detoriorate, I think it already has, but that's what he said. No I haven't gotten anything in my shoes yet, I'll have to look into it. Haven't looked up mind, body & spirit stuff actually. I've just been watching videos on Facebook like Angry Grandma (she's on Youtube too), she's hilarious, plus her Grandson is so attractive too lol. Yep the repressed anger and wanting to hit someone sounds pretty accurate right now.

Hey Sleepy,
Yeah I wasn't sure whether to mention her work, but I've found it so helpful so I took a chance.
I have her book in front of me, anything in particular?
Teeth for eg represent decisions.........
Feet represent our understanding of ourselves, of life, of others.
I think the way I approach it, is to read both parts, the probable cause, and the affirmation, and then sometimes that realisation might lead to AHA! I could do....blah blah differently. Or it perhaps gives me a different perspective to think about. I try not to just use someone else's affirmations as I find it's better if it's my own, that resonates more fully with me.

hey Tayla - thanks for saying i wasn't intruding. thank you for being kind and welcoming on the forum
don't have to be sorry about me being admitted - hospitals are often pretty healing places for some ppl. I know you have heard a lot of bad stories but I've had amazing support at the hospital for 1.5 years and people rarely get locked up against their will, most are voluntary. It's not a bad place at all 🙂
2 weeks can be a long time and that is hard to have nothing in between. I'm sorry you are struggling but appreciate you on the forums. I'm sure J, Mark, HamSolo and many many others would say exactly the same.

Oops I just realised I had a typo, I meant my parents try THEIR* best, not my best haha.
You're welcome, thank you for being kind and welcoming too. I try my best on here even if I'm unsure of what to say. Yeah I guess it depends on the person, I personally think it may help me, but it may not. The triage wouldn't even let me call or come in or make an appointment when I was referred by my Psychiatrist. I usually just talk to a helpline. I'm waiting for Lifeline on the web chat currently, if it's much longer I'll hang up. At least hospitals are helpful for some. I've heard good things too and I know it's a stereotype but yeah. I'm glad it helps you.
Thank you for appreciating me, that means a lot. I appreciate you all and anyone who has talked to me on the forums also.

Hey Tayla,
Yeah I can understand that being dependent upon other people can be really difficult, esp when you're not feeling well.
I'm just wondering, is cooking something you want to do more of? Do you cook with your mum at all?
I learnt to cook at first by being mums hands in the kitchen. She would be in the bedroom, resting or whatever, and she would direct me. It sounds a bit weird now , cos this is not how I cook with my kids, but I would run in, and she would say, ok, can you add the tomatoes now, and stir it for a bit. Turn it down when it comes to the boil. And I'd dash back to the kitchen and follow her directions. Thats how I learnt to cook spaghetti bolognese.
What would you like to be able to cook?
Tayla, we're all failures at something. Not knowing how to do something isn't the same as being a failure. Besides, you're only 21. You're not supposed to have it all together. I am 49, and I feel like a failure sometimes, because there's definitely lots of things I'm not good at.
Also, Tay if you're angry, thats ok. And very understandable. I hope you talk about it with your psych soon.
Cheers,
J*
