Thank you Sbella
Yeh been a bit of a battle of late and this horrible windy weather seems to make things worse.
Im 58 and am scared about taking on a new job if one comes up. Im scared of falling down worse than ever if it doesnt work. I ve worked since i was 16 but in this world im expected to work for anothere ten years ive tried so hard.
I try not to worry about what people think of me but it has always been a problem for me especially with my work situation.
I hope youre going ok and sorry to be on a bit of a downer.

Hi Beaser,
I'd like to comment on the "always worried what people think" issue.
I used to do that, still do a little, it has come from my estranged mothers, she always asked what were we thinking when really that is personal, our thoughts can be private.
The only way I've been able to muster the technique of not worrying about others thoughts is to become confident and realise that some human beings dont deserve the respect of such worry. Eg toxic family or friends that are abrasive in their attitude, workmates that arent compatible and so forth deserve your distance, to keep your distance is to protect yourself all the while being civil.
Worrying about a new job is wasting space in your mind, find activities that distract you from worry. Accept that the next job might well be without major issues that you had in a toxic environment at previous jobs. It really is best to think in a realistic way rather than fanaticise what might happen. This dreaming of the negative is a reason for anxiety. It is unhealthy.
I have a couple of posts below. Just read the first post of each please. They could help

Hi and thanks for your kind reply WK.
I had a look through the links you left and they all had some great points.
You are right about saying that some people dont deserve occupy a space in our minds. A good thing for me to remember.
I applied for four month christmas position yesterday , I think it would be a good step for me to start off in a short term role. So fingers crossed there.
Wishing you a Happy Day.
Beaser.

Hi to all and thanks from me too Maddy for the nice gesture and words.
And hey beaser, just wanted to say l hear you. About your vintage too although l've purposely mix it up in places as was worried about identity given some topics and the people concerned, may also be here.
At anyrate, it is bizarre isn't it, expected to keep it going another 10yrs, just wth, it's too much. l wish they kicked up about that in this country like they have in others, just seem to roll over with it here. Ironically some of the country's we're always being told are all so bad like China, Russia, yet they can retire at 60 and their costs of living a fraction of ours. We're also told how good we have it here yet others pay double our pension too.
l feel so bad for many here still being forced and bossed around to keep on working or jump through Centerlink hoops at such ages yet at a stage where they can't even cope with their mh, it's all just wrong.
On the upside though- something l remind myself of too bc have no choice is that in studies they have shown it's actually healthier to keep working soooo, there is that l guess.
All the best anyway and hang in eh, same to everyone else too.
