Hi
I haven’t done this before but l really like the idea and reading other people’s experiences is actually a positive as l realise l am not alone with coping with overthinking and catastrophising. It gets so hard the worry and uncertainty as l am looking for a job-went for 2 jobs and did not get them! Am an older worker and my confidence feels a big shot now! Some days it’s okay and then some nights it’s just awful as the anxiety grips me and l feel so fearful. I meditate and get through. But it’s not an easy time.

Hi, welcome
I can totally relate to this and after decades of anxiety I think I do have the answers you need.
Anxiety is a serious health issue and no one method of reducing it will stop it, however it is one mental health problem that is curable almost entirely. I'm 70yo and grew up developing anxiety as a teenager. It peaked at 30yo during a workplace traumatic event (a trigger) that gave me my first major panic attack so severe doctors believed it was a heart attack. That diagnosis proved wrong 3 months later through testing. So with a stroke of luck I embarked on a multi facetted treatment program that included-
- Therapy to learn deep breathing and meditation
- Diet and exercise
- Research
- Sleep study for sleep apnea (later proven and I use a CPAP
- Introduce hobbies
- Sort out finances to reduce stress
- Learn not to worry
- Distraction
- Learning what's realistic
- Motivation
- Career/work choices
- Removing toxic friends and family from my life
To read about these in detail it would be more advantageous to give you the links to some of these. You only need to read the first post of each thread. I'm sure they will be an enormous help.
If you would like to talk more then reply and when I log on I can answer.
