Hi, I only found this forum today, as I was just trying to find anything online that might help. I don’t even know what I was looking for. I’ve had serious depression & anxiety, & been medicated for around 5 years. I am having such a bad time right now. My anxiety is through the roof, & I feel I’m spiralling. I don’t know what to do. I can’t talk to anyone as I feel everyone must be so fed up hearing about it. I spoke to my psychiatrist yesterday, but she can’t medicate me any more. I just can’t cope with anything. My daughter’s issues at school, awful school mum politics & the constant guilt of having an only child. What do you do when you can’t see a way out of feeling this way?

Hello AbiG, it's always sad to hear when people feellikethis, but it's reality and most of us have been through exactly the same as how you are feeling and believe this is one reason why we tend to close up because we think people are tired of listening and watching us behave the way we do, tht's why depression and anxiety can be so cruel.
Perhaps you could ask your psychiatrist to think about changing your medication because the current one doesn't seem to be helping you.
The decision to have one child is your choice and depends on the relationship and how it's going, no one should criticise you at all, because other people's choice to have three or four kids could also be criticised, but again that's their choice.
In any organisation there is always politics run by a group of people and it's best to stay clear of this group, because they send unnecessary messages that spread around and mostly are untrue and the reason why people can become depressed.
Keep talking with us if you want.

Thanks so much, Geoff. We couldn’t have more children so I live with constant guilt.
I sent some friends a message today about a catch up. I then deleted it later, as I convinced myself they wouldn’t want up catch up with me. Now they know I deleted the text.
I just don’t know what to with myself. I went to crawl into a ball & not be me anymore. It’s too hard. Thanks for replying.

Hi and a warm welcome.
Anxiety is a serious illness and this forum can compliment professional treatments in an all round effort to reduce it for a more relaxing life.
I wrote one of several articles on this topic based on my efforts to rid myself of all Anxiety.
https://forums.beyondblue.org.au/t5/anxiety/anxiety-how-l-eliminated-it/td-p/183873
As you read that it's clear that any reduction in Anxiety has many components to it. For example in your case getting gossiping mums at school and only one child into perspective might well be tackle with base level therapy and moves to raise your low self esteem by attending motivation lectures or positive thinking courses. I say this as my own lived experiences have demonstrated a similar result. Relaxation courses are a must, yes they work.
So, in the end you could see some improvements in several months. Your child will love you more, you'll keep distant from the troublemakers and look forward to watching the sunset.

Hi AbiG,
I am sorry you have been going through this, it must be hard. Has your psychiatrist told you why they can no longer medicate you? Are you able to get a second opinion on what might be best for your mental health. Surely your psychiatrist can't just let you go like that without offering an alternative solution - I would be seeking a second opinion. When I feel this way, I usually reach out for help - even if it is from friends or family to vent. I know you think they are fed up, but they could also offer help.
I hope things improve soon,
Jaz xx
