Hello, 1st time posting, i am 66 years old, Female, and atm my worst symptom is lightheadedness and blurry and dry eyes, every day is a struggle, i am waiting for my new glasses, fingers crossed this will help some, i have had anxiety for most of my life due to abuse( childhood)sexual and psychical, i have also lost 2 children.
I use to get a lump in my throat, grind ny teeth,( got dentures now) nail biting, only ever had two anxiety attacks, shaking hands, buzzing in body, a lot of them have settled, but the lightheadedness and blurry eyes remain.
Thank you for your time

Dear Sheebah28~
Having anxiety can certainly cause physical effects, and I experience lightheadedness for a short while after a panic attack, however not blurred vision.
I'm not saying these may not be anxiety symptoms, however it can be easy to assume they are. There are lots of medical reasons for these symptoms, as an example I've had lightheadedness after my blood pressure went too low, again when I was on a particular medication, so can I suggest you see your GP and be tested to see if there is a physical cause?
If it turns out there are no physical causes then no harm done and your therapist can concentrate on reducing panic attacks and other anxiety related matters.
I hope you are able to isolate the cause promptly and remedy the situation

Thank you for your reply, dizzyness and blurry eyes are apparently very common anxiety symptoms, not everyone get them, unfortunately i do, i am seeing a hypnotherapist for anxiety and grief..
My blood pressure is always high when i see my dr, white coat syndrome and anxiety, i have a BP monitor at home, so i keep an eye on it, but mostly it's good, never too low.
I also forgot to mention that one of my symptoms is that i feel the floor is moving, at times it feels like i am walking on a mattress, anxiety is so frustrating and disabling.
Again thank you for your reply..

Dear Sheebah28~
Thanks for the explanation, I'm very glad you are seeing a doctor. Your symptoms sound hard to manage wiht dizziness, blurred vision and unsure footing. Everyone is different of course and has different effects from anxiety.
Do you find your hypnotist is helpful?

The dizzyness and eyeproblem is worrying me, especially when i am in the garden, i feel very unstable, but i love my garden, so it's not going to stop me..
I have only seen my hypnotherapist once, i go again next thursday..
I was also wondering if i should get my ears checked, i have fullness and sometimes i feel like i am talking under water, anyway i know dizziness can be caused by so many things aside from anxiety.
Thank you so much for your reply..
