so, i wanna tell my parents im a furry

so, i want to tell my parents that im a furry. i just think it would be so much easier to do that as i want to explore more about it and create things. but i am not sure how they would react. because there was this one time when i was at supernova (a convention.) with my family. i saw a group of furries and they looked like they were having so much fun, dressing up in their fursuits. (this was before i realized i was a furry.) And i would glance over at the group a couple times because it was just so interesting how excited they were. i told my mother how much i admired that, but she just said, "anna, they are furries." 

and honestly, i don't know what she meant by that. so now, i am nervous about telling her because i feel like she may hate that or something. honestly i dont know and sorry for bothering you guys.

firstly, can I say that you are NOT bothering us. 

It can be scary to have the tell our parents things. Partly because we don't know how they might react. 

If or when you decide to tell your parents, it might be helpful to explain what being a furry means to you and how it positively impacts your life. It's possible your mom didn't fully understand what being a furry means when she made that comment. (I can say that I honestly did not know much until I found your post and then did a little google search.)

Take your time to prepare what you want to say, and remember that it's okay to feel nervous. And again, you're not bothering anyone by sharing your feelings and seeking advice.
