Hi,
I’ve been searching and trying to figure out if it is legal or if there was restrictions on a person under 17 being able to move interstate alone without parental consent or knowledge. I already have a plan on getting money and a way to move, I just need an answer to give reassurance on if I should move or not.

Hi again,
So it would appear that running away is your preferred M.O...
If this is your only option, then something in your family situation is amiss.
There could be a couple of reasons to decamp post haste:
1. You are being abused in some form at home or in your local circles -
Go to the Police and have Social Services intervene.
2. You have made a 'mistake' that you feel afraid to come forward about -
Your parents will have the wherewithal to advise and manage this appropriately; it may not be as devastating as you first think, but learning to own our actions is a part of growing up.
3. There is some agenda/incentive to travel interstate for reasons you feel your parents will neither understand nor approve -
Risk Management is not usually well thought through at 16 (going on 17) and the price for going it alone can be very high indeed. Whatever feelings you have for your parents, they are a valuable resource for guidance and experience in showing cautious restraint - that is why they are charged with being your guardian until you reach 18 years of age.
You might at least keep some trusted family member informed so that your safety is monitored, but I would encourage you instead to confront the source of your intention to determine if this is the correct response.
