I think I need help??

I've always been the type to have bad luck with most things, jobs, boyfriends, friends etc. I have been suffering depression for as long as I can remember especially with an absent father and a busy mother. I recently did some research due to having problems with my partner and most of my symptoms are related to paranoia disorder and now it all makes sense to me but now I feel more alone than ever due to the fact it makes me sound like a crazy person. If anyone out there knows what it feels like or has suffered from it please contact me. I'm very scared

Hi Zepp,

Can I ask you if you have been diagnosed and are being treated for your depression?

Also, self diagnosis for mental health (and even physical health) is unreliable at best. Are you able to talk to your GP about your suspicions?

How old are you? Do you have family support or reliable close friends? Are you in a major centre where access to health care is good?

I will wait for your reply if you want to send one. I would like to ask you to try to not be scared but that is silly advice.

Kind regards, John

dear Zepp, thanks so much for coming to the site and post a comment on something that has worried you, and please we don't want you to leave from what we have to say, as you have joined the group asking us a question.

John is correct we can self diagnose ourselves from what we read on the net, which indeed you maybe correct, but you need to see your doctor to confirm your condition.

You are not crazy at all, nobody who has depression of any type didn't ask for it and they aren't crazy as well, it's an illness that you have got, just like when you catch a cold, it happens whether any of us like it or not, but it can be controlled and in many occasions can be overcome, but first of all you need to see your doctor who will the process towards helping you.

All of us here on the site have had or still do have depression of any type, and we know the struggle it is, what it does to us and what it does destroy.

We have had hundreds of people come to this site asking for help, advice or what we can suggest to them, just like you have, so please let us know what's going on at the moment.

We're here to help you. Geoff.
