Welcome to BB forums and well done for reaching out for help.
Sometimes our depression, anxiety and thoughts get very overwhelming and this can lead to us wanting to deal with that pain physically. Lots of us have been there. Please know that help is absolutely available! Give the team at Beyond Blue (or similar) a call- there number is at the top of the screen. They are fantastic and won't judge you at all- they are there to help.
If you don't feel comfortable calling you can live chat to someone online from 3pm. Alternatively, depending on where you live there are free or really cheap community counselling or support groups that you can go to.
If you go to the menus at the top of the screen there is a section called Get Support> Find a professional. This will give you not only therapists but also GPs in your area that can assist with mental health. GPs can refer you to a therapist and you get 10 free sessions from this which can be extended depending on your circumstances. Either way go to a GP that you trust or find one in that list and talk to them about how you've been feeling.
If you are really having bad thoughts and need immediate help give 000 a call and they will assist you. Please know that we are here to talk to you also but if you want one on one support give someone a call now.

Dear Mindy
Welcome to Beyond Blue. I am so pleased you found your way here to ask for help. I agree with Laura, well done for posting here. Her advice is terrific.
In the short term I suggest you phone BB. Their counselors are terrific. They will be able to offer some excellent advice.
Please go to your GP ASAP. He/she can diagnose your illness properly and work with you on the next steps to take. Probably the doc will write a mental health plan for you which will entitle you to ten free psychologist consultations per year. I understand these can be extended but you can work on this later. The important thing is to start getting help.
I am pleased you are so positive about taking Laura's advice. It's good to get started before depression drags you into inertia. I will not write any more at the moment. I hope you will continue to post here and tell us how you are managing.

That feeling will go. It will go! Trust me! Call a professional, call your friends but don't let that though takes you! That's just a took! It comes and goes. Every thought juts comes and goes. They do not have material reality! They are words, thoughts. Let them go... And they will...

dear Mindymoo, firstly can I say that my little puppie in my photo is actually called Mindy or for short I call her Moo-Moo, so please have a look at her little face, because she's looking at you, and she is cute.
The advice that has been suggested is great, so please have a look as you have said you would.
There is so much help here on this site by so many wonderful people who understand how you are feeling, because we have been through exactly the same as what you are struggling with.

Hi Mindy,
Just wanted to add my Welcome to the others already posted. I hope you are able to find a GP who will help you and also to reach out to the online and phone services that are available to us all.
I'd like to add my encouragement and support to help you along this journey you are taking. We all experience depression and its associated inflictions differently, but we all understand how each other is feeling. Good on you for reaching out trying to get the help you need.
Wishing you all the best with your recovery, and hope you realise there is a whole community and family of people here who are able to assist you with understanding and care.
