I feel so alone

Depression is really hitting me harder than ever.

I recently just told my parents that I have depression, my mother is trying to understand but my father doesn't seem to care. He said I wasn't depressed and that I'm just going through a phase. He doesn't understand that he is making it worst by telling me things like that, he even said that I was making my mother depressed. I think he hates me because he won't even talk to me anymore. I don't know what to do, I feel so alone. I am terrified of who I've become. I am so tired of being alone. I am tired of feeling like I'm drowning. I am just tired of being tired.

dear WP, I'm not sure how old you are, but sometimes the older generation, ( which puts me into ), has never believe in depression, and just want you to get over it, which doesn't include myself, because I have been dragged through the coals with depression for a long time.

So on most occasions it makes these people very hard to persuade or convince that depression does exist, however he has said that your mother maybe suffering from it.

From what you have said you will need to go and see your GP, but can you please get back to us and let us know your age, and perhaps a little more information, because we all want to help you, as this is very important for us to do so. Geoff.

I'm seventeen. I haven't yet seen my GP but when I do, I'll get back to you.

P.S - My mother doesn't suffer from depression, my father said my depression is causing her to be depressed and he is using that term loosely.

dear TheWriterPerson, yes I feel the same as John, and a bit concerned for you.

When your father users the term depression loosely, this is only going to make the situation worse, and perhaps you could ask him not to use it. Geoff.
