I've been suffering from depression even since I was about 11, now almost 17 I'm still suffering. Nothing happened to make me feel like this and I don't know how to make it go away. I've seen several Counsellors, at school and out of school but that never helped. I got put an anti- depressants almost one year ago and I really thought they would help. I was feeling okay for almost 2 months not long ago, not exactly happy, but not depressed. I thought it had come to an end. 2 weeks ago I cried myself to sleep for the first time in months and since then I've been feeling worse than ever before. for the last 6 years suicide has been on my mind about 90% of the time and I know its not the answer and "everything will be okay", but right now I can't see how I will ever feel better. every time I get close to a friend or teacher they leave, so I've learnt not to let anyone else in, I thought it would be better for everyone, but it's not any better for me.
I just don't know how I am supose to get through this.
I can' t do it anymore...beyondblue's clinically-trained moderators often work offline (invisible to you) on issues relating to suicide or self-harm. At the same time, general supportive comments from the community are encouraged. If you have concerns around suicide or self-harm, please phone our support service on 1300 22 4636.

Dear Jessy,
Please don't give up. I know how very hard it is when you feel like you are just dragging yourself around and when life seems like a constant struggle. It can be very tough.
Have you spoken with your Dr about maybe changing the medication to see if something else will work better? Sometimes a medication does not suit and needs to be changed.
When you are feeling really low, or preferably before you reach that point, reach out to someone. Use the phone help lines to speak to someone. Beyond Blue have an emergency number you can ring, that is a starting place. There are suicide phone help places as well.
Is there at least one thing in your life that makes you feel happy? Could you concentrate on that one thing. Maybe you enjoy spending time with a pet if you have one. Or going for a walk, to the beach or some special place where you feel at peace.
Do you draw or like writing? Can you express how you are feeling through these activities? It does help to try to get the depression out of your head and onto paper one way or another.
Please don't give up on making friends and connecting with people. We humans need each other.
I presume you still live at home, are your parents supportive and understanding of how you are feeling? Do you let them know when you are not coping too well?
I wish I had the answers for you to make you feel better. I just have suggestions and hope you are able to make a difference in your life somehow to break the cycle of the depression.
Thinking of you, from Mrs. Dools

Hi Jessy,
Don't ever give up. There will be an answer. Something will work for you. It just seems you haven't found it yet.
Speak openly and honestly with your Dr.so they know exactly how you are. The more you tell them, the better they will be able to help you.
Do you enjoy any kind of sport? Physical activity can help you to feel better, and if you do enough of it for long enough you may become very tired and sleep better.
Would listening to music before you go to bed help you to switch your mind off? Or reading a book? I concentrate on Sudoku puzzles and find my brain can not think depressive thoughts and do the puzzles at the same time.
Can you find something to distract yourself?
Wishing you well with your Drs. appointment in advance.
