my life is basically crumbling apart in front of me...
i live with my single mum and two younger siblings and our dad (who we no longer live with) has just told us that he is probably going to loose his job. my mum doesn't earn enough to support us, so we rely on him. mums pay just covers our rent and we just get by as it is but without my dads income, we won't have anywhere to live and my brother and sister won't have a school to go to.
im so lost. i don't know what to do. I'm trying to be strong for my mum but I'm dying inside.
where do we go from here?

Hi anxious97,
I'm sorry to hear of this uncertainty and fear due to your family's financial situation. You sound like a very caring sibling and family member, by the way.
Your Mum should get in touch with financial support services such as Centrelink, if she hasn't already. If past attempts to gain financial assistance haven't worked out, perhaps try another organisation or avenue of support.
Here is an Australian Government site that could provide useful info/links:
https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/themes/families
I don't know much about Australian Government support payment options, so sorry I can't offer more specific advice.
If you ever need to talk to someone about your personal concerns, you can call the Kids Helpline (for people 25 and under) on 1800 55 1800. The website at https://kidshelpline.com.au/ has online chat options and other ways to get support.
It would be great to hear back from you 🙂
Best wishes,
Zeal

Hi Anxious97,
I'm very sorry to hear about you and your families struggles.
Please take on Zeal's advice and pass those details onto your mum, she may not know about them and what help she can receive. Please keep you head up, keep trying to be strong for your mum, I know it must be very difficult and I'm just so very sorry you are going through this.
Also as Zeal said please don't hesistate to call the kids helpline if you want to talk through your feelings or even the Beyond Blue helpline on 1300 22 4636.
Alternatively, please post back here as much as you wish and we will just try to talk to you and hear you.
My best for you and your family.
Jay
