i don't know if i have depression or if i'm convincing myself i do. i get frustrated really easily, you just have to ask me a simple question and i snap. i also get angry easily and after i have a 'mini-tantrum' i cry. i'm always negative and impatient. i'm tired even though i've slept well, when i actually do sleep well. i haven't really been happy recently and i'd rather stay inside than hang out with friends. i already have anxiety, which was triggered from high school. i think my depression symptoms start around the same time but it wasn't bad.

There are self-tests on this site, someone will probably send you a link. (I don't know how to) Or else Google will find some. Doing this may help you to find out more about how you are feeling.

Have you spoken to a Dr about how you are feeling? This would be the wisest thing to do. You sound younger than me. I have struggled for tooo long, trying to self-help, and it is really hard and doesn't work very well. Please don't let your feelings fester, as it will only get worse. I think that the earlier you ask for professional guidance and help, the easier it will be to improve the way you feel.

There is also an online chat available here, as well as the phone lines, maybe this would be an easier starting point. Do yourself a favour and connect in some way with a professional.

hello Palmtree, the link that JS has mentioned can be found under 'the facts' and it's called the K-10 test, where it will give you a score on whether you are suffering from depression or not, a high score suggests that this could be so.
Depression is not what we want to talk ourselves into, sure you can say that you're sad but when this extends over a long period then it becomes depression.
We aren't qualified to diagnose you, however from being in depression for such a long time we can give you an indication, but I always link anxiety with depression, to me if you have one then the other is also there.
It's possible to have low anxiety and full on depression or the other way around, but by having either takes you through a stage of your life where they will control your life, how you feel and your reaction to a situation that may have just happened where you feel as though you can't cope, you may well sleep 12hours a night but as soon as you wake you feel tired.
Not only does it do this but it effects your friendships and r/ships with your family and friends and isolates you from any social contact.
I really hope you don't have it, but let us know what score you get on the K-10. Geoff.
