Hey everyone, 

Im 17 years old and currently studying year 12 at school. I have suffered from depression and anxiety since i was 8. I have been on medication and had therapy. Lately i feel like everything is starting to consume me again, i can hardly get through a day without my depression getting the better of me. I used to self harm and i am trying my hardest not to come to this again. I feel like i have no one to support me, none of my friends or my boyfriend understands. Im really just after some support, friends, or just some words to help get me through the day.

Hi Cassie,

You will find lots of support and friends here Cassie and you know you can get instant support on this site. Are you having any therapies or treatments at the moment? I would imagine your 12th year of school is getting close to the end and it could tempt you to feel anxious. I hope you take some time out, maybe every day, to do something that relaxes you, something you enjoy, what would that be? For me, I head to a forest. In your past have you found anything that works well to reduce your depression and anxiety?

Hi Cassie-Ellen,  

Firstly, welcome to the BB Forums – we all either suffer from depression/ anxiety or care for someone who does. We get how you’re feeling and have an idea of what it does to you.

You’ve had it for a while and I hope your doc/ medication does help you at least a bit. Do you have anyone you can talk to about what troubles you? You can always read up more on these forums – sometimes it really helps me to hear that I’m not going through all this stuff alone. Try to keep yourself busy too.. even little tasks help to keep your mind and body active, which can help prevent dark thoughts from taking over. I do hobbies, read books and such to try and prevent ‘down time’, which usually ends up with me over-thinking everything and going to dark places.  

Give it a try, and feel free to vent in the forum as often as you like.

Hey guys, 

thanks for all the advice, im yet to find something that takes my mind off it well because my overthinking becomes really bad. year 12 is really stressful, i have 6 weeks left. 

im trying not to go to the dark place but each day it gets harder. No one really understands but i really am glad that i have found a place to vent and let my feelings out before they get to me.
