Hi there,
Welcome to the forum. It is wise of you to seek advice for a decision that you are having trouble with but potentially has lot of impact on your life.
I want to confirm that your dad is advising you to drop out from school while you are completing your year 11? May I ask the reasons for your dad's advice? And why you think it's important to find a job now?
Answers to above will allow us to provide you a proper analysis. However in general there's positives and negatives to both sides. For someone who does not enjoy school at all and struggle a lot with it, given they have a career path in mind can pursuit a course and look in to getting a job. On the plus side they pick a trade they thoroughly enjoy and earn money at the same time. One negative is that they will feel the responsibility of a job and earning money earlier on life. Also later down the life there may be certain career opportunities that require VCE as a qualification.
Is there a particular job you have in mind? Hope these insights provide you some guidance. Feel free to seek more help and express your ideas.

Don’t drop out.
Finish year 12.
You won’t have a future if you dropout.
You must finish year 12 and get the graduation certificate.

Hey!
This is really incorrect lol there are so many pathways now. An ATAR doesn't even matter after 2-3 years. You can always go back to school or even get a diploma which is the equivalent of a year 12 certificate. Please do your research. 🙂

Hi lol,
Not middle school someone who is completing her year 12 VCE! There are actually tafe credits you can use to get into university Id encourage you to look at Chisolm website or look it up. This is a very old point of view. For example, A Diploma of Counselling (often CHC51015) is an effective pathway into a Bachelor's degree, allowing for advanced standing (credit transfers) of typically 40 credit points or up to 1 year of study. Meaning you could drop out of year 12 and do the counseling and still effectively use that to go into a bachelor degree. I’d encourage you to do your research before saying things like this. There are always pathways.

Dropping out of school to use a TAFE course to enter a Bachelor's degree is a common and effective pathway, allowing you to bypass the need for an ATAR. A completed TAFE Diploma typically guarantees entry into relevant university degrees, often providing credit for prior learning that can shorten your Bachelor's degree by 6 months to 1 year.
