Hi there,

Welcome to the forum. It is wise of you to seek advice for a decision that you are having trouble with but potentially has lot of impact on your life.

I want to confirm that your dad is advising you to drop out from school while you are completing your year 11? May I ask the reasons for your dad's advice? And why you think it's important to find a job now?

Answers to above will allow us to provide you a proper analysis. However in general there's positives and negatives to both sides. For someone who does not enjoy school at all and struggle a lot with it, given they have a career path in mind can pursuit a course and look in to getting a job. On the plus side they pick a trade they thoroughly enjoy and earn money at the same time. One negative is that they will feel the responsibility of a job and earning money earlier on life. Also later down the life there may be certain career opportunities that require VCE as a qualification.

Is there a particular job you have in mind? Hope these insights provide you some guidance. Feel free to seek more help and express your ideas.

Don’t drop out.
Finish year 12.
You won’t have a future if you dropout.
You must finish year 12 and get the graduation certificate.
